I Think they're not cheaters in most cases, but a bunch of ATMs we can't print money from, that occasionally end up having a bit of too much luck

I think in 888 there are less cheaters. I did not check any cheating stuff on 888. The fields are not so big and the willing to steal money is also less. But me knowledge is not so good, that i clearly check if somebody is cheating. The range of cheating is wide. It is also cheating if you use tools that are not allowed. Like some calculating tools etc.

There are people (or multiple accounts) colluding and sharing cards at the least. 888 is just one of the sites that does not advertise the accounts that it bans, but I have been around there long enough that I can tell which ones haven't been coming back to play after a while.

What kind of cheating are you talking about? Years ago I came across some sort of multiaccounting "ring" with more than 100 connected accounts, that colluded to prematurely end late registration in satellites. For instance the satellite would require 6 players to start and pay top 3. Then a bunch of them would register in the last few seconds, before the tournament was cancelled, so that there were just the needed 6 players but no more.

And then in the very first hand 3 of them would move all-in preflop with, whatever they had, which would bring the number of players down to 4 and end late registration, before anyone else had time to join. In this way the satellite would run with a big overlay, so it was largely a way to cheat 888 Poker. I told 888 Poker about it, but for whatever reason after several month they had taken no action to stop it. And then I stopped playing there, so I dont know, if action was eventually taken.

For obvious reasons regs dont stay at 2NL for long. They either manage to grow their bankroll and move up, move to other game formats or stop playing. At higher limits like 10NL or 25NL you are more likely to see the same regs year after year.

If by cheater you mean someone who is too lucky with their runouts, then most likely they were just lucky.

If you mean stuff like collusion/potential RTA usage/etc I guess you can ask in the official 888 support thread, but they'll probably ask you to give them good enough evidence.

50NL and 100NL mostly, alot of the regs are pros or semi pros so are there most of the time. Though i do sometimes see a bad reg that i used to play at 2NL, not sure how he managed to move up!

At 2NL regs will move up, move format, move site and half the players are fish anyway. So i dont think its really the same. I imagine even 5NL you will see more of the same regs.

Perhaps a bit more but even 5NL is mostly a stepping stone in my opinion. The difference in skill level between 5NL and 10NL is not that large, so if a reg can beat 5NL, they can usually also beat 10NL. The main reasons for regs to not move up further is, that they reached their skill limit, or that higher games dont run very often.

On PokerStars you see SnG regs, who have played for many years, in the $5-10 games, which is mainly, because higher games dont run during most of the day. So if they want to play at all, they have to jump into the $5-10 games or move to MTTs. And this is why, you see regs with 10+ years of experience in $5-10 SnGs. But you dont see them in $1-2 SnGs, which would be the equivalent of 2-5NL.

It's contradictory as you would think that it would then be most profitable to play at 2NL, since that is where most of the worst players are playing. Nathan Williams (blackrain79) found most success at the lowest limits. He did multitable quite a bit.

I figure there are bigger reasons for why traffic at 888 cash tables is down overall. 2NL is still the most popular of what is left.

Ok, again, in the context of this thread, what does that mean for 888? Cash tables are mostly vacant. How many players do you even see at 50NL and 100NL?

Thats because the games only run when a fish or weaker reg sits down. Sometimes hardly any tables are running other times there are quite a few. You have to wait for good tables/seats, so i would normally play on poker stars at the same time or some 25z.
For 888 it also mean you will see regs play a variety of stakes, e.g. 20NL, 30NL and 50NL just depending where the best games are.

It's better not to play Omaha late at night — you might end up at a table with only two other players, and what a coincidence — they could both be from the same country, which you don't see very often. There's a high chance of team play in that case. By the way, American Cardroom refunded me twice — I don't know how they detected it, but sometimes if they catch someone cheating, they can return the money. I didn't even know I had been affected by dishonest play in cash games.

Why would you just make up baseless accusations?!

More likely like many other sites they are just struggling for players, with GG taking over. The fact the rake is high and there is no decent rakeback doesnt help, plus the fact therir profile is much lower than say pokerstars or even partypoker.

No accusations, just speculation. When did they change their rake? Their cash tables were decently busy less than a year ago.
