He publicly said that he does not want to play for NY. Why not try to get as much value in return? They got a stud in Dennis Smith Jr, and 2 first round picks.

At face value the mavs look like they won the trade however it all depends on KP if he performs like he did before the injury.

Makes you think they know something more of his injury than is public knowledge. Also they probably want to go after kd, but they would have had room. Mavs got a steal if he can return as he was.

Dallas won with this trade. Next year they will be a great team to watch with Doncic and Porzingis and with some more players.

Agreed...what a horrible trade...even though Porzingis had the injury he'll bounce back and remain a force in the NBA. Oakland Raiders make similar "goofy" trades and such, dating back to one of the worst EVER when they traded all of those draft picks and such for the LSU QB years ago and the kid never amounted to anything. Go VEGAS Raiders!

Its not terrible, but those picks aren't going to be lotterys and beyond that I don't see how the move would sit well with kd if he has ny in mind next season. It's a complete rebuild now and I'd think he is past that in this point in his career.

Well Lebron had Kyrie and Love in his second go around.

If Durant can bring his voicec of a second star with him and the Knicks get a top draft pick, that is something you can build around to be a championship contender.

Personally I don't believe the Durant noise, when the heck did the Knicks ever sign someone that talented in FA?
