This was a pretty weak move by the MLB, suspending him for the rest of the year almost 2/3rds of the season in and his team mired in the cellar. He should have gotten a 100-game suspension as has been rumored earlier, and been stripped of his 2011 MVP award.

said it before and will say it again - baseball is way too weak on drug use, 50 or 100 games is not good enough.
Most other sports give at least a year, 2 years or life bans - a third of a season is poor in comparison.

Yea, I agree. They should be way more strict. They are making millions of dollars & are looked up to as role models by kids & even a lot of adults. It's BS. I say give him @ least 1 year w/o pay. That will teach him (hopefully).

If that's the case great he doesn't deserve it and anyone found cheating should not only not get it but should have to pay the league huge amounts for tarnishing the leagues already bad image,that will make these guys stop the bs

Line up all professional baseball players next to NBA players and NFL players, then tell me which sport has a steroid problem. NFL/NBA players are like greek gods next to MLB players and they play a sport that is at least 15 times as physically demanding. It amazes me the number of people who hold the viewpoint that baseball is the game full of "cheaters," the one with the bad image. If you are going to say using performance enhancers amounts to some disgraceful form of cheating that takes integrity from the game, then at least be consistent and apply it to all sports. To look at the NFL, where all violations fly under the radar and the NBA, where they are using the WWF 1989 testing system, hand out a free pass to those, then look at baseball, where they have addressed the issue to the point of destroying the reputations of a number of recent great players -- Bonds, A-Rod, Clemens, McGwire, Sosa, Palmeiro, Braun, Manny, etc, have done so at the expense of the sport's popularity and continue to have the harshest system and end up at the conclusion that of the three baseball is the bad one when it comes to dealing with enhancers...on what planet are you living? Ryan Braun violated a rule, got caught and will pay the penalty. What do NFL players get these days, four games and .0001 percent of the negative attention MLB players do? NBA? We are still waiting for a violator to see what the penalty is. What do the masses who have their opinions spoonfed to them by ESPN think... A) MLB has a much larger steroid problem than other, far more physically demanding sports with far more impressive physical specimens and yet they continue to have a nonchalant stance on the issue B) All the sports have this issue but it only cuts to the integrity of the game in baseball C) They aren't thinking at all D) Other (please explain) Everybody who has subscribed to the mainstream narrative can pick one of those. The correct answer, if your senses have been working properly, is that all the major sports have this so-called problem (my high school had this same problem in 1998). If you do have a real issue, you should be happy with MLB's handling of it to the vast detriment of their league and completely disgusted by the lack of attention given to it in other, far more thriving leagues who have wisely chosen the more profitable avenue.

some woman wore a Braun T-Shirt jersey to Miller Park last week with a "F" where the B should be and a "D" where the N should be, spelling Fraud. in a ridiculous move, Miller Park and Brewers Security approached the lady and demanded that she either take off the shirt or be removed from the ballpark. she reluctantly turned the T-Shirt inside out. Ryan "Fraud" had the freedom of speech and expression to swear he didnt use PEDs even going so far as to throw the sample taker under the bus, yet this poor woman cant wear a T-Shirt?!? Dude your right and wrong. Nobody is saying that, all sports are filled with this. And they are grimey cheaters. Its even more grimey when they milk how honest they are just to get busted. We not angry at mlb, its only their job to enforce ped rules, not follow them, thats on the players. We are booing players, a tm braun, and he deseres every bit of it, nothing on the mlb, and taking nothing away from the slime in other sports. And its hard to say if its more orless phsyically demanding, mlb players play well more then anyone else with much more travel.althouht the game itself is not really a rough contact sport

Yeah I hear ya, I just feel like if I had an issue with every athlete using performance enhancers I would have to either A) somehow convince myself that it is just the guys we know about it, mostly baseball players or B) stop being a sports fan. And baseball is far less physically demanding than football and basketball. Football is obvious and with basketball, if it doesn't seem obvious, what do you think is a better workout, playing three or four NBA games a week or six or seven baseball games per week? The fact that the baseball season is longer and comes with more travel I would say makes it more mentally draining, which is why so many players have used greenies.

his use of PEDs doesnt really bother me at all. it was all the BS and the lie filled statement he gave. also, throwing one of the employees of the testing agency under the bus, and essentially questioning this poor employee's morals and ethics all in an attempt to continue with his deceit
