Not sure what you exactly mean under " new olympic disciplines" ...
Like someone else mentioned in this forum - lack of spectators (or them missing all together) is probably biggest disappointment in this event lol ...

i like watch usa olympic teams perform, seems many their athletes more interested trash their own country & political protest, than play their sport
interesting watch - funny yet very sad

They are out in spite of the fact that 6 nations go throught to play offs from 8 teams...

I think I remember reading, that boxing is still there, but with a reduced number of competitors and weight classes.

of course 3v3 basketball, which is really cool, dynamic games turn out to be. surfing and skateboarding are also great that got into the Olympic sports.

I don't like the whole idea, but that sort of reducing is at least some kind of compromise. Boxing is one of the oldest sports out there. We'll see.

I have already watched like 15 hours of wrestling.

In most sport they take all precautions to avoid blows to the head to prevent brain damage. Yet in boxing that is the purpose. I like boxing, always have, just have to question the logic of it all.

By the way, the 50Km walk has been axed after these games.

Me too. But I think organizators want to bring young people to watch the Olympics.

Is that a bad thing? What happens when all the old people die, do the Olympic Games die also.

The young people are watching, and they're the ones competing, apart from Andrew Hoy that is.

Without people watching there won't be any Olympic Games, there is too much money to be made.
