Sports vs Game

Where is the limit between something being a sport and being a game. Golf is considered a sport by most, but is bowling a sport? is it the competition and prize money/salaries that make something a sport, or is it the physical requirement of doing said activity that determines whether something is a sport?

Are competitive video games a sport?

Physical sports are physical sports. Esports are Esports. Mental sports (poker) are Mental sports. All sports are games, but not all games are sports. A sport requires it's competitors to have strategy, precision, accuracy, finesse and some other things I'm missing for sure, but most importantly it must be able to be dominated by the competitors that hone these skills the the sharpest point.

Games are for people wanting to have fun. Sports are for people wanting to make a living/business/career/habit out of games.
In games the competition is usually playful and semi-competitive.
In sports, competition is serious and usually involves some type of monetary compensation for time/effort put in.
As far as fan bases, forget about it. It is like comparing copper to gold.

I think that sport requires a lot of training and good athletic skills. this work on yourself from childhood and the end of a career in a certain, marked by nature age. real sports involve a risk of injury. video games are not a sport, but it's good that people compete and reward the best. in General, not every competition is a sport.

Some sports are very demanding. Marathon for example. Boxing, 100 meters run and swimming.
Other sports and for the mind. Poker, Chees, Video Games.
And some sports are light for all kinds of "Atletes". Golf, Bowling, Air pistol.
Poker I like because is for everyone. Young, old, men or women !
