suggestions for making baseball more popular?

how can they fix baseball? games are too long and boring.....

- change the number of strikes for an out? and or balls for a walk ? 3&3 ?or 2 strikes and 3 balls..?

- have a pitch clock .? once the batter is in the box he can't step out and the pitcher has a limited time to pitch ?

1. Change the little round ball to a big oval one
2. Instead of three outs, make it 4 downs
3. Change the diamond to a 100 yard field
4. Instead of walks, call them field goals
5. Instead of home runs, call them touchdowns
6. Instead of double plays, call it "He got knocked the **** out"
7. Instead of rosin, call it blood
8. Instead of checking to see if the runner beat the ball. Check to see if he got two feet in after that 60 yard catch.
9. Instead of feet, make it yards.

But... if what you really want is a nice long nap, I wouldn't change a thing.

There are what, 30 + teams & 5 or 6 have the bucks to be consistently successful. What's interesting about that.
Clock would help, but not gonna happen.

10. Make the pitcher battle a bunch of huge angry men... every play.
11. Make outfielders compete with extremely fast and talented dBacks for the catch.
12. Allow more huge angry men to block the catcher from stopping the runner.
13. Make the infield battle said huge angry men so the pitcher can get a pitch off.
14. And if these huge angry men can get to the pitcher before he can get rid of the ball, allow them to slam him onto the ground.

Now, that would be an exciting game.

Far more parity in MLB than NBA. NBA you either have one of the great players or you don't. MLB is wide open every season. For crying out loud the Giants won two of the last three championships. Pirates, Rays, Orioles, Reds, Cardinals, Red Sox, Tigers, Athletics, Rangers, Dodgers all have similar chances of taking the championship. No team is a good bet vs the field, in the NBA Miami vs the field you might have trouble getting an even bet.

A true hard salary cap that even small market teams can afford. Until all the teams are on equal footing $$ wise baseball will always blow.

baseball is great but 4 plus hour games because the pitcher takes 30 seconds each pitch alot of them is kinda nuts

perfect as is, the only thing different they should do is don't let batters take so much time out of the box and pitchers shouldn't have 20 seconds between pitches. I understand some guys work faster than other bud seriously eric bedard 20 seconds between a pitch? come on man letsssssss gooooo. I understand the longer you wait it could be better for you rather than the hitter, for example pujols in his stance where he is low he would hate if bedard spent that much time between pitches. sitting in that stance would get me fired up

In reality, I do enjoy a hot week day afternoon game in the cheap seats. It's the only time beer tastes good to me.

Some minor league teams have a reserved section behind 3rd with a buffet for two extra bucks. Pretty cool on a hot Wednesday evening.

Baseball serves it's purpose.
