Have you ever been stuck in an entire tournament getting marginal hands?

You register for an online tournament, and then it seems like the dealing isn't going your way; you keep getting:

J4, 72, T5, Q7, A3, K6 the entire tournament until being eliminated.

You think, "What's wrong?"

Has this ever happened to you in a tournament?

It has happened to me, but even in this situation you need to know how to play; you have to play according to your position at the table, and defending or stealing blinds is also important even with marginal hands.

For me, it happens all the time and the crap cards repeat hand after hand, K6, K6, K6, then 83, 72, K6, 83, 96, and so on . When I finally get good cards AA and go allin bam they get cracked!

ACRPoker is the worst in my opinion. I have noticed for sometime a weird pattern with the cards I'm dealt. I dont think it's normal. Im not saying it is intentional but something is not right. I look to my hand histories but I cant review them because they all out of order. Hands are out of order, it jumps around. I am not sure why it saves the tournaments so messy?

I play on other sites and it is not as bad but it does happen. When it happens you will have to learn how to play the crap, bluff more to make up for these periods. Otherwise you will be blinded out. Playing in freerolls you can practice your strategy without risking your bankroll. Or play on free poker sites to practice. Good luck!🤑

Yes, and it doesn't happen very often. Unfortunately, it's almost always impossible to fix your game or bluff. I understand that any card can win or lose.

Regisztrálsz egy online versenyre, aztán úgy tűnik, hogy az osztogatás nem a te elképzelésed szerint alakul; folyamatosan a következő nyereményeket kapod:

J4, 72, T5, Q7, A3, K6 a teljes versenyen, amíg kiesik.

Azt gondolod: „Mi a baj?”

Előfordult már veled ilyen egy versenyen?
Just like in live play, it is necessary to recognize the moment when we can achieve some success even with bad cards... but that obviously requires more attention.

Hi! Yes, this happens all the time. And it's not just ACR that differs in this way; other generators are no less guilty of such distributions. You sit there and for a long time do one thing – fold, because entering with such hands is more expensive for you. But you see how monkeys play with trash and win, and it tempts you – you need to have discipline not to enter a hand with bad and provocative cards. You have to accept that you will mostly be folding, just like many other nuances of this game. Good luck at the tables!!

There are two simple solutions for these situations. The first is volume - to play more than one game at a time (and then play more games afterwards). The second is to jam all-in when there's significant action pre-flop and you have a marginal hand that still has decent equity - you either win or you will play a different game.

Happens a lot. Not much you can do about other than fold your hands or bet your weak hand and hope!

It’s not that the tournament is stealing from you; it’s that the card distribution doesn’t owe you anything.

Yes, it has. More than once.
That’s just variance doing its thing. In tournaments you can easily run card-dead for hours, and it feels personal, but it isn’t. The mistake is thinking something is “wrong” instead of accepting that bad distribution is part of the game. The key is not to tilt and still make correct decisions with what you get.

Being card dead is part of variance and happen to everyone. The best solution is to multitable, so you dont notice it so much, if you are card dead in one or more tournaments. In that way its easier to not overthink the situation and start playing poorly "to make something happen".

Yes, those consecutive bad hands can feel like an impossible streak; it's part of the variation of poker and it happens to all of us at some point.

It does feel tilting when you are running cold but depending the size of my stack (let's say short stack for example) any face card looks good when it folds around to you especially if late reg is still available. On the other hand, if it is a freezeout, it is a horrible experience.

I have played entire tournaments without getting a single pair but somehow made the money. The tournament I just got knocked out of I had Kings so sometimes not getting the big hands is actually doing us a favour.

I believe it rarely happens in online poker , since they program "fairness" into it.

It happens here and there, even if I want to play some decent hands though average, there are a lot of ways to loose with that type of recurring bad hands in long tournaments with a lot of entries. This is my specialty, getting average hands when I feel like I will do my best in a tournament I carefully select after some time playing micro stakes. Of course, playing out more than 1 game can be advantageous, but you need to consider how a completely different setup can be planned skillfully.

I hate when this happens in live games, night becomes so boring. But that is how the game is.

It happened to me as well, and I guess a lot of other players. All this is an integral part of the game.
