Preflop
First thing to notice is, that this game has a very large ante. I am not quite sure, what the best way is to adjust to this, but for sure we need to fight much more to pick up all that dead money either by widening our range or using bigger sizing or both. So I am definitely on board with raising here, and maybe it could have been even bigger. But it worked in the sense, we got it heads-up with a big overlay paying $0.1 to win $0.32.
Flop
The Villain leads out, which is also called a donk bet, because we were the previous street aggressor. The first decision is, if we want to just call and try to complete our draw, or if we want to put the hammer down and start a bluff right now. Both have merits, but in position it does often make more sense to just call and then potentially start a bluff later, if he slow down and check.
Turn
When we just called on the flop, it makes the most sense to continue with the same passive line. We also have less
equity now with only one card to come, and his range is stronger after betting again.
River
We miss, and he check. Its a pretty brick runout, so I dont think, he is checking a hand like top pair to check-fold. Which mean, that if we bet, we are mostly getting his busted draws to fold. There are however some of those, we lose to, like the A high flushdraw or flushdraw + pair type hands. Or he could have the same hand, in which case we can bet to get him off a chop. Half pot need to work 1 in 3 times and should get these kind of hands to fold. So I think, this bluff is overall fine.
