Preflop
I would defend this hand from BB, but from SB you are getting a worse price and not closing the action, and then its just a fold.

Flop
I dont hate leading here, because I think, a monotone board get checked a lot. As played yes you should call. You defended a bad suited hand preflop, and clearly we should not do that and then fold, when we literally flop a flush. Its a small detail, but now its actually good, that you have a high-low hand rather than a connector, because it mean, you dont block him from having a J or T high flush.

Would villain do this with the nuts? (answer: NO!)
Typically a 'donk bet' is looked upon as weak and you'll find many players will automatically put in a raise.
In this hand it is a bit different scenario, villain is raising but he's raising HUGE vs. the size of the pot.

My guess. > Villain is holding KcXx and is drawing to the nuts, thinking he has fold equity but is drawing to the nuts if called. (it's a weird spewy play in this particular spot with these stack depths).

My guess what you chose to do. You folded and are still wondering "What did he have? Was it a good fold?" (your hand is way too strong to fold here)

I agree, that a ridiculous overbet shove on the flop is usually a capped range. If Villain flopped the nuts, he would not be so fast to shut his opponents out. Only a complete beginner would do that, because they dont understand pot odds or think about the best way to get paid.
My guess. > Villain is holding KcXx and is drawing to the nuts, thinking he has fold equity but is drawing to the nuts if called.
Either that or he is playing scared with a low flush, a straight or a set, because he dont want to let another club roll off.

Absolutely. With 3 clubs on the board and 2 in our hand, there are only 7 different ways for the opponent to make a K high flush. So its very similar to having KK preflop, where we lose to 6 combos of AA. And of course its very rare, that we fold KK preflop in a cash game. Maybe if we are 300+ BB deep, or there is crazy multiway action like a raise, a 3-bet, a cold 4-bet and then a jam, we can consider letting the cowboys go. But not for less than 100BB to a single opponent.

You completed from the SB w/ Q4s, flopped a flush w/ a redraw to a straight flush, and now are asking if you should fold?

Ya... fold preflop. Were you only calling if you flopped the nuts?

CO was not aggressive until the turn was shown. It is a strong indicator that he drew something, most likely a made flush given the board. Kc xc was clearly in his range, but he might also have two other clubs as well.

I called his shove and it turned out that he had Kc, but the other card wasn't a club. If I was playing that hand I wouldn't have shoved as it would very likely get called by a made flush - I would have put a small bet instead to test if the other would become aggressive to see if he made the flush ahead of me, and fold if he reraise me.

If I was the villain and held two JcXc I would have shoved to protect my equity, to force a fold from KcXx.

But the hand history you've posted shows that the action was on the flop. How was he aggressive when the turn was shown? Did he look across the table and give you the stink eye?
I'm confused. I thought this Hand History action was on the flop.

As Poker Orifice say, its not surpricing, that he turned up with that kind of hand.

We do not want to have any range for making a 4 x the size of the pot overbet jam on the flop. Its a ridiculous line, regardless what kind of hand its done with. There are 3 streets postflop, so there is no reason to be in such a rush to end the hand.

Would fold preflop though.

Since you called and hit the jackpot, easy call. If you fold this you might as well quit poker.

He probably has AQ or something. Maybe even QQ. LOL.
