I find that cash games are consistently winnable. Once you get used to the players at whatever level you’re playing at you develop your strategy and pretty much stick to it.

As you say - make whatever you want to make for the day and leave. Or, if things aren’t going your way just leave when you want and return when you want.

I find with tournaments anything goes. You’re playing against hundreds or thousands of unknown players for hours on end. You’re locked in till the end, which can easily be five or six hours or more maybe getting your buy-in back, maybe not. Every once in a while you have a lucky day and go further.

Tournaments are social events first and foremost. Cash games are earning events.

Yes, that can happen. That’s the attraction.

How many hundreds or thousands of entrants lose their buy-in and re-entry/rebuy and add-on trying to get there every day?

If that’s what you enjoy, and you have the time - go for it.

Cash games have more time independence. If you want to play, if you want - stop playing)

to be honest, I prefer tournaments, because at cash tables you can lose much faster amounts bigger than the buy-in in a tournament; this way you limit your losses or the risk of losing ..... what do you say? , I'm right :) ?

I like the cash game due to the fact that there is no time reference. I can play half an hour and close the game. In MTTs, you never know how long a session will last.

In my opinion, the cash game is much more profitable when you have a correct banking management. you can play 2 hours a night at nl100 and have a very good income.

I prefer tournaments because I have better results playing MTT's than cash games, but like you said, it takes more time. If you don't have at least a couple of hours to play in a session then cash games are a better option, because you can win/lose very fast and call it quits for the day.

I know that tournaments increase my bankroll. But cash games have always cost me losses. That's why I prefer tournaments.

There are long downswings in cash, and they cost more money in a little timelapse. You can control your mtt losses but not cash. I mean you can leave when you lose 2 buy ins, 10, or 20, but a downswing can go up to 50 buy ins, and last one day like one month. So when you lose every mtt you can easyly spot your mistakes, or aknowledge the bad beat, on a flip or a +EV shove. But in cash it's harder to aknowledge it, needs work and lot of reviews.
In mtts you can grow faster than cash, as you win a great amount when you get to the FT, but you need more luck than skill, as the variance plays harder.
So let's say that mtt is more fun friendly and it's softer to make profit, or not to lose that much, but you need to play a lot to get your skills in adequance with your winnings, while in CG it hits hard, and skill influences more on your results, but mtt or cg, you need a good brm, unles you're here for fun and to gamble.

I prefer tournaments, Mostly people don't value enough the early game. Just play so much tight but If you do a great early game you have a great chance to win a nice prize.

Depends on your tournament skill edge and size of tournaments you play and how many tournaments you can play in a day, and your amount of time you have to play.

Yes you can. But the cash game requires a lot more psychological control, not that the tournament doesn't have it, but the cash game is more fatal, the way it is played, just look at the shover numbers in a tournament against the shover numbers in a cash game.

To be honest, I think that its depends of the player. Maybe some players prefer cash and others prefers MTT or Sit&Go. I like MTT and Cash. I think that you can use different strategies in this two game modes and I think that players from cash are different than players from MTT. You must analyze the game with patience :)

Sorry for my English😬

I think cash games are more interesting than mmt tournaments. Judge for yourself in a cash game, you can double your stack in 4 hours, while tournaments are good if you win prizes.

I think that better is a personal choice.
The variance isn’t so hard at cash tables, we can play as much as we want, close the table whenever we want.
Cash is a bureaucratic game compared to tournaments who are filled with thrilling and emotion.
Cash is a game of patience and observation. We have stack and time to make our decisions, for we are playing always with at least 100 blinds effective.
I see tournaments as a game of all-in or fold, for we are most of times playing short stacked.
Cash is a game where we need to be postflop rats or the field will tear us apart: while in tournaments we are stacking big pots having AA preflop or a TPTK postflop, in cash games is not quite so.
Tournaments are better for those who own a couple of hours per day and a strong mind that doesn’t care about huge and constant losses.

I actually only play in tournaments. Cash games are too difficult for me. I prefer tournaments because they mainly increase my bankroll.

I think in terms of earnings cash game players earn more than tournament players. Also, there is less variation in cash games than in tournaments, but the choice between these two variants depends on each player.

Personally I prefer tournaments, I'm used to respecting the MTT strategy contrary to the cash game that I don't have its discipline.

In my opinion, no! Strategies for cash games are different! Cash games is a risky modality, it requires self control!

Tournaments are nice because they give you time to recover from a blow while you play, in cash tournaments that usually doesn't happen. Everyone plays what they like best

Cash Games and MTTs are totally different monsters. they have to be played with different strategies and of course you can leave whenever you want in a cash game, however!
We had a player who would play in a Cash game and if he made double or even treble his buy-in he would cash out, and later try and buy back in again for the minimum £20, but other players got wise to this and said "No you cannot sit down again unless you buy in for the amount you cashed earlier.
Which I thought was fair, as he had won money from the game earlier, and they only wanted a chance to win their money back, He refused so couldn't play again until the following week.
He approached me as Tournament Director of the weekly League game we played, and I told him "Look I run the League game, and have nothing to do with the side game, if you have a complaint? See the Landlord"
We had actually talked about his scheming earlier in the Evening as the guys had noticed what he was doing and had done exactly the same, the week before and had already complained about him to the Landlord and myself, so we came up with this idea.
