Defending the BB Against a TAG Player

so i was in the bb playing $0.10/$0.20 on pokerstars with 5 opponents everyone folds to the button and i figure him to be a pretty tight aggresive player he raises 3.5 bb and the sb folds i had king,9 (not suited) and i defended.
What does everyone think of this defend?

Defending the blind is more a tournament thing than a cash thing.

I think you should have folded if you are sure that he is a tight aggresive player.K9o is a group 8 hand and there are somany hands that can have you beat.

I suppose it's an easy fold since that person is a tight aggresive player and K9 offsuit is not a good hand to defend. You won't often hit the flop and if a guy keeps pushing, you'll have hard times.

So he is tight and has raised, surely this should tell you he has a hand, yet you decide to raise with a hand thas probably worse.

Are you a winning player long term? If not dont bother stealing the blinds, keep working on the basics.

The size of his raise is paramount here. If he had raised to 2x I'd defend all day. Probably 2.5x too. For 3.5x the price isn't quite as tempting and you're starting to build a pot with a hand that will often be dominated by a tight player. So I fold here.

fold after one hundred percent raise. Flop on the straight and flush draws possible opponent with middle pair and a weak kicker too weak to look Ollin.

I wouldn't make a habit of calling here especially for a 3.5x raise. There's not many flops that we're gonna love. You might hit a pair not knowing if its good and will often pick up draws that you're gonna be tempted to chase while oop against an aggressive player in a large pot.

Agree with what someone else said that defending is really more for tournaments. When I first switched to cash, leakbuster taught me this. it showed that a huge percentage of my losses were from the bb.

A 3.5x raise by a tight-aggressive player means you need to fold BB in any ring game. K9 is far from a premium hand and without a perfect flop, you'll just be left guessing more than most other starting hands. Lay it down...

Fold.

There's a good chance a pair of kings will be outkicked. Given that, what are you hoping to find on the flop to help you win the hand? Q J 10? K 9? pretty much anything else leaves you guessing as to whether what you have is good or not.

The range on the button on this stakes are mostly wide. Also players didn´t notice you play tight or loose. They just see the button and raise, but if you call out here its dangerous. you didn´t hit the flop often. So you have to 3 bet pre flop and did a conti bet or fold pre. thats what i think

Fold is the best way but you also can call and fold on flop when you are drawing dead.

If he bets 3,5 regularly on the button I would suggest 3-bet/folding but never a call he gives you bad odds oop. If he 2bet/fold on your 3bet or flatcalls 3bet-fold to c-bet you can exploit Jim?

For a 2x raise from the buton you're priced in to complete but not all the time (depends on villain's play on button. How loose does he open ?)

I would have folded hands, even if it agresivny player that does not mean that he has weak cards! and 3.5 -beta call - it's expensive to pay

If it's me in that situation, I'd fold. Think about what kind of hands a tight player would play. AK, KJ, KQ, K10. If a K comes your in big trouble. I much rather defend with 78s. I want cards he doesn't have. In that situation you have to think about the cards your hoping to flop.
