I would have called. If he'd a called...the flop would have came out. If 2/J/Q unsuited, HE could have went all in....FIRST! The villain would've followed being excited with the Aces.

He would have to avoid a Ace on the turn or river to take the pot. Risky?......yes! Worth it?...………...I'd like to think so!

QQ all in

Hi. The first thing I tell you is that your rival should not have shown her hand, I would never do it unless it is a bluff there, maybe if she would. I almost always call all in with QQ. and you are right I have lost many times in cash. That's why I play more MTT tournaments than cash.

I may not have enough experience for these cases, but I am very afraid to think that others have hands like AA or KK even AK that 4-bet and I with my sad QQ calling, so I 3-bet a lot big so they know my range but if they all in preflop i fold 50% of the time

Looks pretty pocket Queens, but are they really that good.
They can be beaten by many hands like AA and KK of course but also any Ace rag if they pair their Ace or any King rag if the King pairs.
So at the end of the day it boils down to how lucky do you feel?
I once raised UTG with 88 and the BB pushed all-in with Aces, I calmly counted out my chips and had him beat by 2 to 1 My friend who was at the table said "what you doing he is all-in" I replied "I know why do you think I raised"
I called and when the cards turned over I wished him good luck.
He thought I was trying to be funny and I said look you have a pair and I have a pair it's a coin flip someone is going to win but I feel lucky, Do you?
I hit trips on the turn and he was out.

The truth is ugly to feel an ostile environment on the part of your relatives towards what you do and more when you start wanting to make a profession of that but I think that you also have to take that as motivation to do it well and bend that ostility into acceptance I think it is a natural process of rejection towards this sport by people who do not know it, my advice is that take this rejection as a powerful reason to make your family see that this profession is profitable and generates fruits

I once pushed all in on the very first hand in a Casino in a big tournament with pocket Aces.
I was UTG and raised to 300 when the blinds were 50/100 I got re-raised to 600 by the player next to me and he got 3 callers. when the blinds folded it was back to me and I said sorry guys you leave me no option and pushed all-in.
When I was asked why? I said look at it this way we have a starting stack of 5K there is now 2850 in the pot. If I re-raise it is going to be the size of the pot and the rest is going in on the flop whatever drops, so I might as well do it now
There was a lot of humming and ah-hing but I said I have travelled over 100 miles to get here today and I do not like being re-raised so first hand or last hand I really do not care, Call or Fold and I will show my hand.
Eventually one person called with QQ and I said good luck.
But the person next to me said " I folded Ace Queen suited so only one ace left"
"Good" I said "that means there is only one Queen left, he has to hit, I don't"
I more than doubled my starting stack and went on to finish 2nd in the tourney.
To add insult to injury the guy next to me who had folded AQ suited would have made his nut flushed had he called.

u played it right in my eyes bc once he said all in u knew
u were beat.By u raising his preflop raise and him saying all in
is a tell he had a monster hand like aa or kk this (isnt the truth though always)
but u went on ur feeling and saved all the money u have won is the previse hands
good fold buddy not many people can make this lay down

Pocket Queens are a great hand, but they are not invincible. I do sometimes go all in with them, and I would say that I am about 60/40 winning with them...40% is too high a losing percentage.

In order to know how to correctly play QQ preflop, you need to know well how your opponents play, and for this there is software such as Hold'em Manager or PokerTracker, if we are talking about online poker. If your opponent rarely comes into game and he 3-bets your raise (you have QQ), then there is a good chance that your opponent might have KK or AA. I usually raise when I have QQ or 3bet and then see what my opponents do. When I play live poker I do the same thing, only instead of software I use my experience and observations.

good play on your side - a lot of course depends on your opponent, but in any case with a good stack against an adequate opponent it will be a coin and not always in your direction

QQ is an all-in hand if you have less than 15 BB. If not, they can be opened preflop and if they #bet you, you call. But 4bet with QQ is not good, they will only pay you AA, KK and at least AK. If one of those cards comes up on the flop, turn, or river, you're still dead.:evil:

QQ is a very strong hand with which one could go all-in preflop. But in this situation you have to take into account what kind of player you are up against, the position and the stack. When the opponent makes a 4bet all-in it is very likely that he has AA, KK, AK if he is a tight player, where you could make fold. You could also pay if the opponent is loose, although he might have a monster. On the other hand it is not convenient to play everything with a deep stack in a preflop hand because you would be risking too much in a hand that you don't know if it is a favorite. So I wouldn't recommend playing all the chips with a deep stack, although in this situation you can't control the pot.

If you are short stacked and don't have much time I would shove all in, but if you are around what you started at I would raise preflop buy nothing close to all in. If all 3 cards are lower then you can continue to bet or if you catch another Q. Just remember Kk and AA beat you

If you're supremely short stacked, 1-10 BB, then it's okay to shove in any position. There's definitely an argument for opening without shoving if you're 10-20BB. The determining factor is position. If you're Under the Gun, you probably don't want to blindly shove into 8 players. If you're in late position, shoving is strong and can win you the blinds.

The fewer players in front of you, the lower the chance you'll unknowingly run into KK and AA. If you min-raise or open, you can see if someone ahead of you shoves and use that information to inform your play (which is still 99% of the time calling with QQ).

The only reason you would fold QQ is if you're fourhanded against the NIT-tiest players in existence.

I can't say I feel the same about QQ being the worst hand to play. I would typically fold also in your position though. He was repping at least with that behavior. Unless I though the guy was a really loose player I likely would have folded as well. Though if I thought he was at all loose I would have called.

You did the right thing

I was just recently in a hand with QQ against a rather aggressive player, he stood out as being the most aggressive at the table, raising pre and post flop more than 50% of the hands. Pushing with Queens really depends on the other player. If he is being as aggressive as said above 100% pushing allin is the right thing even if you are both deep stacked. However, if the player has a very tight image then QQ is not nearly as strong and more than likely you are either dominated by KK or AA or just in a 50/50 race against AK and I never like getting my money in on a race unless I am shortstacked.

I think you played the hand very well but it all depends on your opponent.
