You've been sitting at this $10 blackjack table for a while and lost all the money you intended to gamble with.
As you were getting up, you saw a black chip ($100) by your feet. You're not sure if you've dropped it earlier or not. You think about 10 more bets, a possible come back.

What would you do?

I am a modest player, and if I drop a chip, I can pick it up myself, I don't need anyone's help. And if this chip is within my bankroll, I will happily continue playing

If such a situation arises, I will use this chip for the game. If it is lying on the floor, then it is likely that it is mine. If it is not mine, but I think it is mine, then in my understanding this means that I can use it for its intended purpose.

I’d just hand the chip to the nearest staff member. With cameras everywhere, it’s not worth the risk, and keeping it wouldn’t feel right anyway.

It depends on your sleight of hand))) There are two options... Drop your chips and pick up a black one under the guise, or demonstratively raise your hand, looking at the dealer and raising them to put them on the table...))) It's all up to you... I would probably pick this chip up and continue to play with it. I would probably furious anyway losing all the time so what. If I have very high doubts I might ask the floorman.

The chip is lying on the floor at my feet. It is logical that I might think that this is my chip. So, I will pick it up and use it for the game

..... after which, I will go up to the room to the beautiful lady we talked about earlier.

That's it. After all, if they see you through a camera, they can't say you stole it. Stealing and finding are 2 different things.

I agree on the fact that it wouldn't feel right. But since you're not sure who it belongs to, giving it to the house would feel weird too. Why should they get it when most players are losing and that chip belongs to one of them?

A lot of people would agree with you there, except that this is the 1st sentence in the OP: "You've been sitting at this $10 Blackjack table for a while and lost all the money you intended to gamble with."
Therefore, you have no chips left to use in that scenario.

I play with focus and discipline, so I always know exactly how much I've spent and how much I have left. If I dropped a £100 chip, I would definitely notice it. So, I guess the chip lying on the floor doesn't belong to me. I would pick up that chip and give it to the dealer.
