If you’ve ever looked into online casinos and betting, you’ve probably come across this term: rollover.
I wasn’t familiar with it, but I soon realized that if you want to bet online, you have to meet certain requirements—the so-called “rollover.
Here’s a more detailed explanation:

I always found PartyPoker to have the worst rollovers. I can't play there anymore due to Belize restrictions, so I guess that's a separate kind of bonus. LOL

I’d had an account with PS for quite some time, and when I played at their casino, I wasn’t required to meet a “rollover” requirement, so it was easy to withdraw my winnings. But PS Casino isn’t regulated in Brazil, so the only games available there for Brazilians are poker games. But I looked for other regulated online casinos here, and they all had that annoying “rollover” requirement! LOL

Hi Diva,

An interesting topic as usual. Very useful for people who don't know about the bonuses' traps.
Just like you, I don't have PS's availability anymore, otherwise, they have a nice deal on their casino bonuses rollover. I was lucky many times with those. They let you bet with the bonus amount till you reach a certain threshold where they credit your account with the whole bonus amount at once. This doesn't apply to the poker though.

As to the other sites, I admit not having any experience. I made a deposit lately on GG with a 100% bonus, but it looks like it's almost impossible to obtain, unless I keep depositing and getting very lucky before the expiration date ;).

Yes, Sami! Those “rollovers” are often traps that bettors don't realize. PS has given me a lot of winnings, and as I said, I didn't even have to make a deposit because I've had my account for a long time—I don't even remember ever depositing anything! Good luck with your betting and poker!

For a while now, I'm not doing any betting Diva, sticking to poker.

I think it's better that way, at least we (relatively) have an idea what we're doing. I hate putting money on a number, a horse or a sport team and wait for an improbable outcome.
GL Diva.

Yes I know what rollover means in betting/gambling as I had to do this myself on multiple occasions after depositing on poker sites.

haven't accepted any bonuses in twenty years, but when I started with like $50 dollar deposit
For a double your money bonus and never got close, I sent so many emails crying and cussing
Those deposit bonus scams lol, I chased them for a long time but I never got more than 5 or 10 dollars cleared.
total scam in my book, if you could clear one you would be doing so well that the bonus meant nothing.

That’s right, Jay! If you have to deposit and bet a lot just to make any real profit—and it takes a long time before you can actually withdraw your winnings (if you ever get any)—all that time spent isn’t worth it; you’re more likely to end up losing the money you invested. And the document verification process is also complicated on some sites here, not to mention the time limit you have to follow to withdraw your winnings! Good luck!!

Is it where roll over, you lie on your arm until it's dead and then write your betting slips out?

This is a term used in the context of bonuses. Promotional terms and conditions vary, and generally speaking, most of the bonuses you’ll be offered come with terms that are, to put it mildly, not particularly favourable. However, there are certainly some that are worth taking advantage of.

No, it's more like when you get in bed, you can bet she rolls over before you get comfy. :ROFLMAO:

I’ve been betting on sport for about 25 years. I’m certainly familiar with the term, but back when I didn’t know the word, I simply referred to the whole process as ‘the conditions for withdrawing bonus funds’ :)

Good point to address... We can also include online poker, where most rooms (in theory) have a similar system, and I think this is due to the requirement of financial institutions to prevent fraud or to avoid using the platforms as a bank in some way.

In practice, many rooms, despite saying they have rollover requirements, still allow money transfers without needing to fulfill them.

Is rollover the same thing as wagering? In some rooms and/or casinos they present themselves this way, but with the same meaning, I think.

I read about this and found out:
Rollover and wagering are not the same thing. Rollover refers to the number of times the bonus amount or the combined amount of the deposit and bonus must be bet before you can withdraw your winnings, while wagering refers to the total number of bets a bettor must place to meet the bonus requirements. In short, rollover is a requirement to unlock a bonus, while wagering is the total amount of bets that must be placed to reach the full bonus amount.

I wasn’t familiar with this term, but I think most people who place bets have come across the specific terms and conditions regarding the withdrawal and use of bonuses. It’s a very common procedure which, unfortunately, can sometimes be quite complicated. However, those who pay attention and take the time to read the terms and conditions know which bonuses are worth accepting and which are best to turn down.
