Hello again :),

As promised, here we go with the 2nd part.
Part 1: https://www.cardschat.com/forum/general-casino-83/horseshoe-the1st-wsop-part1-554017/#post-7193317

Obviously, Mr. Binion ended up getting his license (Money talked) and the Horseshoe was officially opened and immediately gained more popularity than all Vegas casinos. The smart gangster indeed came up with a new idea. While the others had minimum and maximum bets in all their games, Binion decided to break that rule, hence attracting millionaires as well as anyone with $10 in their pocket.

But just sometime (1953) after the "Grand Opening", some new Dallas District Attorney found a way to make Binnion's case a federal one, resulting in his arrest and incarceration despite his money and the bribed officials. He had to spend 5 years in a federal prison in Leavenworth-Kansas.
Having managed to come out a couple of years before the end of his sentence, he took the Horseshoe's reins back from a friend to whom he had "deceptively" sold it and was the one in charge though he could not get a license (Yet).

Later on, in1969, Binion went up to a Reno Hotel casino owned by a "Friend", Tom Moore, who had a cardsharps gathering including Johnny Moss, Puggy Pearson, Sailor Roberts and of course Texas Dolly. I t was the first Doyle's face to face with Binion, who liked what he saw.

On the way back, he told his son: "It could be a good idea if we had a similar game at the Horseshoe, with Doyle Brunson and all the other big stakes players and let people watch them, it could bring some extra people too, we will call it the world series of poker"

And that's how the wsop was born, in 1970.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attach some related pics no matter what I tried. But I'll keep working on it.

You really held up the climax until the end :ROFLMAO: I was beginning to wonder when the WSOP comes into the picture, or do we need to wait for another sequel.
