What do you think is the most important factor, or foundation, that allows professional players to get paid for their work?

I think there are very few long term winners in casino games, poker is really the only game where you can be a long term winner and the casino will let you keep playing.

In pure casino games there are no long term winners because the math is always in favor of the house. Over time the built in edge makes it very difficult for any player to stay consistently profitable.

Professional players usually focus on games where skill plays a bigger role, like poker. In those formats the most important foundations tend to be discipline, good bankroll management and the ability to make better decisions than the field.

So while the house always wins in the long run in casino games, skill based environments are where players can actually create an edge.

When it comes to professionals, I think we should first and foremost look at professional poker or blackjack players. These are players who have enough experience, skills and knowledge to turn them into a source of income. As for slots, roulette or other casino games, I think those who know how to make the most of various promotions or bonuses may have an advantage.

Money attracts money. If you are financially secure and don’t have to worry about tomorrow, next year or the next ten years, your mindset will be completely different. Players like that can afford to take quite a few risks.

I think professional players can make money at poker, at betting, and maybe, although there are big doubts, at blackjack. Everything else, slots, roulette, other games are equipment for ordinary players who are willing to pay for entertainment. I think the best professionals are actually those who own such businesses.

The term i personally think is true for casino (live and online) is true, however id be living proof you can make a profit playing online poker. However the one thing you can do is sports wagering… again living proof on this one where it’s been my full time job (commitment) for about the last 12 years. The key is bankroll management and well obviously picking winners… personally I find it 10,000 easier now with all the prop betting available. I personally think this give you the edge if you are disciplined, have a solid bankroll and Management of that bankroll. I only need to be right once to win, the house needs to be right a lot of times with my bankroll management system to win. It’s not fool proof but I’ve never had a losing month… I’ve had losing day and losing weeks but my bankroll management and now bankroll allow me a lot bullets to fire.

My problem is keeping up with sports books… I’ve been banned from many.

In my view, there are several key factors that make a professional a professional.
Mathematical expectation.
Bankroll management.
Emotional control.
Continuous learning.
If you want to grow and become more professional, focus on these four factors.

That eliminates most games in a casino, but many play blackjack or craps and consistently win money, folks who make a living off the casino
They are few and far between, but they do exist. But the house always wins, no matter how many people win money.
Can you imagine how much money is spent on insurance, machines, chairs, repairs, employees, electricity, cards, dice, chips, liquor, glasses, etc?
And they make millions over that

It’s obvious how professional poker players make their money. There’s also plenty of information out there on how professional bettors make their money. As for other casino games, I don’t think there are any players who actually make money from them.

I think the most important factor is free time and financial resources. If you don't have to worry about money, then you can devote yourself to gambling, or art, or your favorite hobby and you will certainly have a better chance of achieving success than anyone else.

I don't know anyone who makes money playing in a casino. Speaking of poker, yes, you can make money in poker. But I don't think you can do it in a casino, especially in the long run.

I think the most important thing is money. If you have it, you can do any activity and even pretend that that activity brings you money. I think a significant part of the "professionals" are not so much professionals as just people with a lot of money
