You're playing your favorite casino game and having a difficult session.
Many ups and downs till you found yourself with one bet left.

Keep it or bet it?

I will continue to do what needs to be done. Of course, I will bet. I am a player, and I will bet until the very end, even though I have already lost a lot.

Well, that's one way to look at it.
But let's say you were at a live casino and needed that last 5 or $10 to get home (Gas or transport), would you look at it the same way?

Well, if I came to a casino to play games and I was left with 1bb I would bet it with the hopes of winning back what I lost
But in a case you presented here, I would have no other choice but to use my last money to go home :(

Bet it until its all lost! Or just push to the dealer to appreciate their work. Strangely, it feels awkward going to the cashier & cash out a couple of bucks. Sometimes it feels better to keep the chip as a souvenir. :) I always have some cash to be able to go home. I'm not gambling everything I have LOL.

The cashier will also laugh at you for cashing out the last chip LOL

It depends on how big the bet is. If it’s a significant amount of money—relative to my budget—I’d rather keep it. But if it’s not that much, I’ll give it a shot and try my luck one last time.

It's only one bet, or one unit if you prefer.
I don't think it could be that significant unless you're a real high roller and playing very high stakes.

...this topic is interesting, because when we compare it to poker, we can give as an example a hand where we have a draw on the Flop and we call a bet from the opponent that commits more than 70% of our stack... on the Turn we continue in the draw situation and the opponent makes a bet that puts us all in... if we get this far we have to pay because we are already committed to the pot, otherwise, we would have folded on the Flop... that is, knowing when to stop before being on the brink of the abyss, or losing everything, avoids this type of situation!!!

It's a little different on a table game though.

In the poker example, yes you are committed and have great odds to call. And if you do and hit, you win a lot of chips compared to the amount you had to call with.

But if you were playing blackjack and you have one unit left, you can't really say you are committed. There's no pot and you can only double your bet (Unless you hit a Blackjack), if you win that is.

So, bet or leave?

That's an easy question. Life and gambling have taught me that discipline must come first. So, if I decide to go gambling one evening, I will have a certain amount of money set aside for that purpose. And I won't spend more than I can afford. Obviously, in my case, that last bet will be within my limit.

Probably safer that way. You call it a night, get home and wait for a better day.

I think in such a situation, I would rather make one last bet, even if it were my last money. Of course, I would do what my intuition told me to do at that moment.

My friend, sometimes the choice is very difficult. A bottle of beer or a bet... hmmm... I don't know, I need to think about it 10 times. Probably, under certain circumstances, I would choose beer :)

Even though you're taking a risk of not having a dime left and not knowing how you're going to get home?

I would definitely bet everything. Several times in my life, there have been situations where my last bet with my last money covered all my expenses for the evening and even brought in a profit. I would bet last dollar.

Even if you know you have no way to get home? Don't forget that we're talking about being in a live casino, and that last bet does not mean $1, it's one unit, depending on the stakes you were playing ($5, $10 or more).
