When does gambling become an addiction? game-for-play, regardless of how much you can spend, can lead to disastrous results! But when did you realize that gambling became an addiction?

It is an addiction if you stop and withdrawal symptoms appear. This is true not only for gambling, but for any addiction.

I'm not really a gambler, so there was no time when I realized that gambling became an addiction.
However, if you see someone borrowing money to play, that's one sure sign.

For me, gambling is not an addiction. I have been gambling for over 30 years, I have lost a huge amount of money, but for me it is just entertainment that brings me pleasure, and I am willing to pay for it.

Its a vice if it interferes with other aspects of your life.

Its a vice if you spend over your budget or if you ignore proper bankroll management.

So far, no one in my circle has lost their apartment or car to a casino. But I know it's possible, so I only play with the money I win and don't deposit my own. This is my main rule to avoid becoming addicted.

so this can lead to addiction, you need to start playing free tournaments, if you become uninteresting and you only need to play for money and you always need to play only for a part of your earnings

Gambling is a vice.
The craving for easily getting £$₽ has brought thousands of souls to their graves. And all these souls were sure they would be lucky to get their happiness. But not everyone can overcome the law of chance.
Take care of yourself, save your money 💰)))

You made some nice points there Vlad except defining "Gambling" as a "Vice".

Gambling= The practice of betting, risking money in a game.
Vice= A bad, immoral behavior or habit.

So, gambling is NOT a vice, but it can become one if practiced irresponsibly and starts causing harm.

My whole life is an addiction...lol. I overdue everything that is fun. I guess that's the joy of having no responsibilities.
The saying often attributed to Hunter S. Thompson states that life should not be lived with the goal of arriving safely and preserved at the grave, but rather to "skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming 'Wow! What a Ride!'".

Gambling is an addiction when you can't stop gambling even when it causes you harm. I am yet to realize if my gambling is an addiction since bankroll is still healthy.:ROFLMAO:

A very decent scenario (description) in terms of excitement, but a person's actions while playing are to the detriment not only of himself, but also of his loved ones, for example, putting on the line a car, even an old and murdered one, or a room, is already a vice, no matter how you call it, taking a risk, betting, or even enjoying the process.
Sami, maybe this is suitable for defining gambling as a vice.:)
Your analysis is great))) (y)

Gambling in general becomes an addiction when you spent countless hours and lose a lot of money especially money that you shouldn't lose.

Gambling becomes an addiction in most cases for people who play chaotically, do not adhere to bankroll management, and spend more than they can afford. In other words, for players who lack discipline. Players who play in a disciplined manner get only pleasure from the game and sometimes a decent profit.

But it depends on what you play, how long you play, how much money you take with you and whether you quit when you lose a certain amount or not, don't you think?

Gambling turned into an addiction the moment you stopped playing “for fun” and started chasing losses just to feel okay again.
When the game stopped being entertainment and became an obsession, something had changed — you don’t notice it right away, but it sneaks up fast.

If you rip down your living room curtains after being down ten buy-ins, then double the stakes, is a sure sign you have a problem! Emotional dysregulation/reasoning, even by degree, indicates a lack of virtue!

A game for entertainment is called a game for entertainment precisely because the player wants to have fun first and foremost. If a player loses control, the problem lies not with the game but with the player themselves. People who cannot control themselves will create problems for themselves anywhere, whether in gambling, their personal life, or at work.
