What do you guys think is a fair deposit to try a new casino? Does the bonus size actually matter to you?

Well it totally depends on you personal. Some are looking to deposit just a few dollars, others go for more. Me i go for a big deposit if the offer looks very good.

A reasonable deposit for a casino bonus is one that fits comfortably within your entertainment budget, not your essential expenses.
Because every casino game carries a built‑in house edge, you should only deposit money you can fully afford to lose without stress.
Many players choose small, controlled amounts—enough to enjoy the bonus but not enough to impact their financial stability.
The goal is to treat the deposit like the cost of a night out, not an investment with expected returns.
Keeping deposits modest also helps you stay in control and avoid chasing losses.
When you approach bonuses with this mindset, they stay fun rather than risky.

In most cases, I make a deposit when I can get a certain number of free spins for it. I like these promotions the most. But I never make a deposit of more than $30.

Personally I think they should do whatever they need to get you in the door including no deposit bonus to get people hooked. I have a problem where most platforms over time take away promos when they think they have you hooked

The appropriate deposit amount to receive an online casino bonus depends on the level of risk you are willing to take in meeting the wagering requirements.Minimum safe level: from $10 to $20.

Bonuses vary, and in 90% of cases, they simply don't make sense. But if the bonus offer is realistic and if I know from other players that it really meets the requirements, then I am happy to take advantage of such a promotion.

I always deposit $20 just to unlock withdrawals! Most casinos give $20 bonuses, and no casino lets you withdraw without first making a deposit!

You don't have to care about these bonuses, or casinos in general. Not with your own money at all. If you do play, try to play with your winnings and don't join just because they give you some handout in the form of a bonus. You will lose both the bonus and your own money anyway (in the long run for sure).

I would deposit 2X the minimum to try out a new casino. I don't care much about bonuses as they are usually difficult to convert to cash. If there are nice bonuses then all is well. My only care would be the ease of withdrawal. I would need some money back at one point in time.

Its really important to understand what it will take to release the bonus, how long it will take, and its impact on your bankroll.

If its going to take you 2 years to release your bonus, then you might want to consider that the site might not even be around then.

If you are going to have to play at higher buyins you should expect your win rate to drop. If you are barely beating micro stakes then you probably shouldnt expect to win at high stakes. You need to consider how many buyins you will have to have to reduce your risk of ruin.

If you are playing casino games where the house has the edge, you should not expect to win.

It depends on each person to consider what is fair to safely try out a new casino without compromising their budget. I think $10 is acceptable to get to know the platform. Generally, the bonus seems to be what "hooks" the user from the first moment, because once they're in, there's a good chance they'll make new deposits.

I always pay particular attention to free spins. If there’s a promotion that looks really promising, I’m willing to put some money in. But I rarely spend more than $20 :)

Personally I’d give away a crazy amount of bonuses for any deposit, but the crazy thing I’d do with verified new accounts? No deposit free bonus to get started.. these folks need to see how Vegas was built

Typically, deposits for poker have a bonus of around 25%.

I’m always a bit wary of bonuses. But, for example, I’ve always used a promo code for my first deposit. I usually make minimum deposits of $10 or $15.

Chasing bonuses or getting lured and excited by their amounts, 100 to 1000% sometimes, is just another way for casinos to attract new players. If you're interested in playing and having some fun, just deposit an amount you're comfortable with and play. If you get lucky and keep on playing for a certain period, often a long one, till you generate enough rake to have the bonus (Or a part of it) released, then you'll be a real winner, if not, so be it.
It is also important to deposit where you're also offered more than just a bonus, like free spins or tournament tickets.

It depends on the bonus they're offering. $100 seems like a reasonable amount; depositing more than that would depend on the bonus.

For me, it’s no more than $100. Although, I reckon that in most cases, even $20 would be quite enough.

I stick to a fairly simple rule. I can only deposit up to 20% of the amount I could potentially withdraw later. For example, if the potential profit is $100, I’m unlikely to be willing to deposit more than $20.

I think I can afford a deposit of between $20 and $50. But of course, it all depends on the specific situation, the terms of the promotion, and the benefits I can actually get with a minimum investment of time and money.

I find the minimum deposit amount acceptable. I don’t think it’s wise to deposit more than the minimum amount, as there’s always a risk that, for one reason or another, you might not be able to withdraw your money later on. Even the most reliable sites can refuse to pay out, and they may have dozens of reasons for doing so.
