Everyone talks about bankroll management, but in the moment it’s not always easy to walk away.

Personally, I try to stop once I’ve doubled my starting balance, but I’ve also had times where I gave back everything chasing one more “big hit.”

How about you? Do you have a stop-loss or cash-out rule you actually follow? Or do you prefer to go by instinct and feeling?

Guess mine "stop-loss" is automatic one cause when balance is (back to) zero it is impossible to continue playing although for example in sports betting it has happened quite a lot when balance actually goes negative

I only play slots and unfortunately, I tend to chase that one more "Big Hit".

If I double my money, that's definitely ‘take profit’.
If I lose my limit for the session, that's definitely ‘stop game’.
I spend an average of $20-30 at a time. And even if I manage to be in the black by only $10, I usually stop playing because for me that's already a tangible result.

Do you live in a monastery? Even monks are allowed to drink and have a bet. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

My strategy when going to a casino is to only take with me the amount I'm comfortable losing, and in cash. I leave the cards home.
But it took me a lot of losses and bad experiences to get there.

My stop-rule during gambling is based on time availability. Win or loss, I stop when I run out of time. Can't stop when I have time 'coz don't want to do anything else. May not be for everyone & not recommended for those obsessed with money 'coz its for fun. :)

I have different approaches for different types of games. For example, when it comes to slots, I see the ‘potential’ directly in the game process, and I understand when I should stop and take my winnings. But when it comes to game limits, I always try to stick to them and not lose more than my bankroll management allows.

Which could lead to running out of money too ;).
But seriously, how long can you stay at a table game?
I played for 36 hours once, took breaks, but no sleep. Live cash game.

Haven't run out of money yet LOL always run out of time. I bring more than enough. The longest I played cash game was ~18hours. 36 hours without sleep would really be pushing it LOL. :)

Yeah, when I went to the room, I turned the TV and found it still on like 10 hours later without remembering anything.
The thing is, I never feel tired in the casino. The excitement, the fresh air they pomp in, the winning and a few Redbulls keep me wide awake till I drop physically.

ZERO. I have to have some control on the outcome, otherwise I don’t play. No fun for me to pay the casino in exchange for flashing lights!

Better play poker; in a casino, the house always wins. I can imagine that it can be fun, but if I ever actually go to a casino, it would only be for a few dollars in Las Vegas in a real casino to enjoy free drinks there.

I am disciplined, so I know from my own experience that you shouldn't spend more than you planned on gambling. If I set a limit for myself, I always stick to it, even though I play based on my intuition :)

Depends on if we talk about a live Casino or an online casino. For a live Casino it would be more or less what I bring that night and for online a fixed amount.
