It depends on the situation. For example, sometimes I have trouble sleeping before an important tournament I barely qualified for.

I just genuinely enjoy this game. The fact that I’ve been playing consistently for more than 10 years already shows how much I love it. Usually I lose interest in hobbies after a year or two, but with poker it’s been a whole decade — and I don’t feel even a hint of burnout.

Poker has a small impact on my life, but it exists. Sometimes I get nervous about having to choose between other commitments and participating in a tournament. It irritates me, especially when I have to withdraw from a tournament.

Poker gives me hope to make a lot of money some day so I spent usually 1 hour daily on it.

Right now it’s tough work, a small baby at home and poker make a triangle where the only free time I have is during nap-time. So most days it’s just a quick grind and a little study, and that usually means I’m sacrificing some sleep. Not ideal, but it’s the only window I’ve got at the moment.

It takes a lot of time. But I won very little in terms of money. Plus, many people don't want to withdraw and come up with all sorts of excuses.

I'm still in the ups and downs phase; when I get results I'm euphoric, when I have bad experiences it's just disappointment.

It takes too much time I would have to say! But I do a lot of multitasking. Some lack of sleep occasionally also, but I seriously try to avoid playing late.

If you think about how poker affects me as a person, the nature of the game develops concentration and the ability to analyze situations from multiple perspectives. Since the game inevitably includes both wins and losses, emotional regulation is also practiced at the same time.
