Hey guys - Just wondering what your favourite suited connector hand is - for example Q10 of clubs of KJ of spades or a lower 67 of hearts perhaps?
i suppose anything as wide as a 3 gapper so it could still make a str8 flush on the flop like J7 or 95 suited is allowed.
My favourite hand for an unknown reason to myself is 97 of diamonds. I think i just dream of making that beautiful T86 of diamonds flop and saying to myself diamonds really are forever.... only to get bad beat by a royal with a run out of A & K of diamonds.... I must love pain i guess.
Id love to hear if you have any stories about your favourite hands and not just dreams like mine!

( also could someone explain how to put up card graphics) I'm a bit of noobeloo.

The great truth: fantasy connectors are incredibly fun, but they only make money when you play aggressively in position, in a large pile, and against players who pay dearly in the post-flop. If you play too loose in the starting position, it becomes a leak.

How to show card graphics in the forum/chat
Since you're new to this, here are the easiest ways:

Plain text (works almost everywhere): Use symbols: J T , 9 7 , :ah4: :kh4:
Or you could just go for the adrenaline rush

Examples ready for you to copy:

:ah4: :kh4:
:9h4: :7h4:
:ad4: :kd4:
:10c4: :8c4:
:9d4: :7d4:

Haha, I get that completely, some hands just feel lucky for no logical reason. It’s not pretty on paper, but it hits those sneaky boards where nobody puts you on it. You flop disguised straights, combo draws, and when it connects, it often connects hard. Plus, it’s perfect for playing in position and applying pressure. I think the real appeal of hands like your is the imagination factor, you can already see the perfect flop before it even comes. Of course, reality is usually missing everything and folding, but that one time it hits makes it memorable enough to keep the love alive.

Love this kind of question. For me it’s 76sd, just feels like the perfect mix of playability and disguise. It can flop big draws, hidden straights, even combo spots where you can apply serious pressure. What I like most is that when it hits, it rarely looks obvious to opponents, so you often get paid. But honestly, I think the real reason we love hands like your or mine is emotional, not strategic. They give you that “this could get crazy” feeling pre-flop. Most of the time you fold or miss, but the upside is so fun that it sticks in your head. Poker would be a lot more boring without those hands.

I see it a bit like the late Wenger era Arsenal - these hands are pretty but often ineffective.

67 might be a little low for my liking but I like the concept @istbno described - I'd say 9T / TJ are the sort of range that really peak my interest, but as mentioned I already in the thread you require villain(s) who are willing to stack off with pairs/trips with large enough stacks, but often they'll miss or be weak bluff catchers.

I like playing 76, but in general, if I can enter the pot cheaply, I’ll play hands like 78, 89, or 56 as well.

For me it’s the classic 7♠6♠ / 8♠7♠ type hands.
That perfect mix of pretty and dangerous.

When it hits:
– hidden straights
– combo draws
– tons of pressure

When it misses… easy fold and move on 😄

The beauty of these hands isn’t just EV, it’s that when you hit, you win big when you miss, you lose small.
But only in position, otherwise it turns into a leak fast.

I try to play all of the suited connectors, you never know which ones might connect with the flop. Obviously, it depends on the bet also, I don't want to waste my money on any 2 3 suited. At my local casino, in cash games, the bad beat jackpots get to be very big, every few months, so everybody plays suited connectors, hoping they might get a straight flush against another straight flush. Which, surprisingly happens- rarely, but it does happen.

My favourite is one Ace connected to another Ace.
I'm not too fussed about suits but if they are suited all the better(y)

You can access card graphics via the emoji button (it may look a but different on mobile, you may have to look behind the dots "...") 1775647911586

From the you can search for the card you want, 2d, two, spade, etc.. (On my screen if I leave the search box blank all the cards show up)

Being a gooner myself - this Arsenal analogy really tickled. Sounds like your a solid back 4 and win 1-0 kinda guy.

Great topic! My favourite suited connector is J♠T♠ without a doubt.
There's something about this hand that just feels right. It's strong enough to play from almost any position, it connects with so many flops, and when it hits — it hits beautifully. Straights, flushes, two pair, open-ended draws — JT suited does it all.
What I love most about it is the flexibility. With premium hands like AA or KK the story is simple — you're ahead, you bet, you hope to hold. But with JT suited you're telling a different kind of story every single hand. Sometimes you're the aggressor with a monster flush. Sometimes you're the sneaky straight that nobody saw coming.
My favourite moment with this hand? Flopping an open-ended straight flush draw. Fifteen outs twice. In that moment you feel genuinely dangerous — like the whole table should be afraid of you.
Of course poker being poker, I've also missed every single one of those fifteen outs on multiple occasions and quietly folded to a river bet pretending nothing happened." 😄
JT suited — beautiful hand, beautiful dreams, occasional heartbreak. Sounds about right for poker.

J10, not the highest, not the lowest, just a good 'middle' hand that is less suspect, I mean, compared to aces and kings.
