This is the simple but correct answer. At least a part of it.
Just because they are recreational players, you can't put them in a category before you know how unbalanced they are and which way.
If I have to guess without playing a hand, I think most players who play for fun want to see as many cards as possible, so they are often loose, passive, and
bluff too little. The other end of the spectrum is either a tight nit or a maniac.
But you don't know until you have played with them enough time - and they can of course sometimes adapt and change also.
