I’m curious how everyone plays AK in a 4bet pot.

Do you guys usually stack off preflop with AK, or do you sometimes just call and play postflop?

Especially in cash games, I feel like AK looks strong but also misses the flop a lot.

Do you treat AK as a “premium hand” or more like a drawing hand?

People tend to overvalue and overplay AK and even in 4bet pots, most players will be happy to just get it in preflop with 100 BBs stacks... I'm not one of this players and even with the debate on the classic hand 'JJ vs. AK', I'm taking Jacks all day... Even though I think it's a premium hand and a very good one to have, especially that we block the two hands we're worried the most about when we face raises - AA and KK, I'm usually cautious in a 4bet pot and if I miss everything on the flop and I still face aggression, my default is to just give up and move to the next hand - you just can't win all the hands you have very strong hands preflop...

If I don't have enough chips, I'll pay. If I'm on the verge of losing, I give up.

But if the villain has a lot of chips, he tends to do this to show his strength.

What is the context? Especially the stack depth? I should hope I'm not getting stacked with AK every time; 4-bet pots typically means someone has at least something strong. When you see non-professionals get into 4-bet and 5-bet pots, then you can be pretty sure AK is marginal at best. Multi-way pots even worse. AK is great preflop, but depending on the board runout, it is best for most runouts to just isolate and give yourself some protection.
