Mastering poker isn't just about the cards you’re dealt; it’s about the discipline to fold the wrong ones. A winning strategy starts with tight-aggressive play: be selective with your starting hands, but when you decide to play, play with confidence. Position is everything—always look to use the button to your advantage.

All of this is important, but without practice accompanied by study and bankroll management, and especially managing downwind, it's all useless.

Absolutely agree with that mindset. Tight aggressive is the foundation because it naturally filters out marginal spots and puts you in control when you do enter a pot. A lot of players underestimate how much money is saved simply by folding weak hands preflop. Then, when you combine that with position, everything becomes easier, more information, better bluff opportunities, and more value extraction. The button especially is where you can widen your range and apply pressure. I’d only add that good players stay flexible - TAG is a base, but adapting to opponents and table dynamics is what really turns solid strategy into a winning one.

I believe that playing poker has three basic pillars: studying with discipline, practicing a lot, and a little bit of luck (especially online).
