Cash games are not gambling. A lot of people would argue due to the greater variance and more shove/fold play that tournaments are more "gambling". Both variants require a lot of skill, neither are true gambling.

both forms of poker are a form of gambling in their own sense. the difference is poker allows players to be in control of the risks they take.

the difference between cash game and tournaments are, while players are in control of the risks they take, they're forced to take more risks in tournaments because of raising blinds. where as, in cash games, they're never in that position. for that reason, tournament players have to be willing to take more risks more often in order to do well.

Anything where you're risking something to try and make something could loosely be called 'gambling', but if you're not classifying poker tournaments as gambling then you probably shouldn't classify cash games that way either. Cash games are lower variance than tournaments in the long run as you have a higher chance of walking away from the table with money in a cash game, plus you can leave with more than your buy-in even if you're losing. If anything tournaments are more 'gambling' than cash as you're less likely to win consistently, but have a chance of significant wins every so often.

Cash game is more skill since blinds are fixed. Its gambling also because you could lose bankroll.

Cash tables have less variance and require more complicated skills. You have to bet all 4 streets because stacks are always deep. Biggest mistakes are on the turn and river because bets are bigger.

Biggest mistakes in tournaments are preflop and flop because you have a short stack and are deciding to commit. But there's more variance in tournaments.

I think a cash game player may tell you that it takes more skill, because the effective stack depths are usually deeper in cash than in mtts.

Cash, in my opinion, you have to study a lot to become a player with the possibility of being a winner in the long term obviously. It works for people who have less time to play. It is another type of game unlike Tournaments

I think it's like any other poker game, it has its% luck but the more skill you have the less you need luck.

valendo Dinheiro a habilidade é mais importnate.

O jogo a dinheiro é mais habilidade, já que os blinds são fixos e todas as mãos são importantes.

At a distance, cash games can be much more profitable than tournaments. Plus, you don't have to break the game due to the growth of the blinds, because it simply does not exist.

That's where the pros are, ofc everywhere there's a fish here and there but on big stakes they pretty rare.
I know opinions might be different but anyone who think different give it a try and see the difference between the games.

in my opinion, cash games are much more complex than tournaments, in tournaments the variance factor and a single distribution are much higher than in a cash game

Bigjay wants to know

It takes luck and skill to win in both, there are the same strategies in cash games as well as tournaments but at the same time different in a cash game it most important to know when to walk away

These two game formats are very different from each other. The cash game can be pretty predictable - here each chip is equivalent to real money. But in tournaments the variance is much higher, but at the same time there is a chance for a big win.I personally choose tournaments, cash is not very attractive for me
