Fold AA is always a tough decision for me. I think for many.
but if the board structure contains a threat, I will fold this hand.
I did this only a couple of times but made sure that I was right

I ask becuase no one in their right mind would do that...54th in the money is like 3 cents. You had a chance to do way better and folded a winning hand. I see 0 to admire in this, and as for me, as long as I have a chip and a chair I will fight to win!

Folding AA preflop to an all-in by a big stack only makes sense if you're on the bubble in a satellite that guarantees a certain number of seats. If I'm on the bubble in a non-satellite, straight cash tourney, you'd have to pry my aces from my cold, dead hands. You shouldn't be folding aces to squeak into the money after the bubble bursts. If you bust with AA on the bubble because a big stack was bullying the table (as he absolutely should be), oh well, you got your money in good.

If it's a satellite, and you've got players that are shorter than you, I'm folding AA all day long. You don't need to bust out an ICM calculator to see why.

Very very rarely I fold AA. It's the best hand in poker, for a reason. Of course you don't want to go full ring to the flop, but in general you should be happy to be dealt AA.

Snap fold AA in satelites when was bubble phaze with ticket and I was bigstack and other bigstack played AI. I had a guaranteed win in sitout!

I’m shoving preflop in this spot. If the aces don’t hold up so be it. You can’t win a tournament folding the best starting hand in the game. In this spot I may fold in a satellite where 1st place and 54th are both the same but as stated it’s an easy shove or raise. Why give the Limpers a cheap flop?

The only time it is right to fold AA is when you are in a satellite tournament. Let say 101 people left and 100 qualify. You have a solid stack and know that if you don't play at all you will 100% qualify while if you call someone's all in you can lose. I agree 100% with this answer. I also folded the preflop aces on the satellite tournament bubble. Also I folded aces when there are four cards of the same color on the board, which I do not have and the opponent plays with a big sizing.

My experience on ACR with aces is to jam all in and hope for the best, I've lost pocket aces pre flip 80% of the time

"Everyone limps so I check" - This is a massive mistake to be made when being dealt AA. You are giving up a ton of EV by not value raising in this situation, but you are also limiting your opportunity to win the pot at showdown by playing the hand in a multiway situation.

You should have shoved it all-in. Bubble or not, you do not check AA preflop. You gave up a huge chance of going on a much deeper run, for a min-cash in a freeroll.

Maybe if this was a satellite and there is no difference between winning and min-cashing, then yes.. this would be acceptable.

It all depends on the situation, the current feeling and so on. It is very difficult to fold due to the great expectation given by the AA pair.
There are easy fold situations with AA pair, one is when the player does not raise the correct raise with the AA pair, and on the flop comes a draw or a flush.

I remember several occasions where i called on AA, jammed on AA and folded AA where i was faced with a tight situation, generally speaking I never play to min cash, its not in my psyche and i will call anyone down with AA even if i am close to bubbling but would probably get ITM, it has cost me in the past and it has paid off - i wont change that about my game.
The situations i will consider folding AA pre flop is when there are multiple callers or all ins, if another big stack shoves then 99% of the time i am calling but generally i never fold AA and rarely will.

The only reason to fold AA pre-flop would be what you mentioned if you are close to the money and don't want to take any risks. On the other hand you could easily double up with such hand so it really up to what you want to achive at the table.

I folded aces before when it was obvious my opponent had a better hand like a flush or a straight.

I would never talk to you in this situation, first of all I would go 3bet strong to extract the maximum, and if the chip liber, or big stack comes all in, it's Call right away! This Fold you gave is -EV for sure.
Only in case of Satelite that does not matter the possession, because the vacancy must guarantee, then yes we can throw away the AA, and even then I would think about it in playing all in with this AA. Think with me if you call, you have 70% to double your stack, and so the prize pool goes up for you.

I did it Already. Four players shoved. Its was a final table. They showed JJ, 88, AK and a KK. Guess what? Set of eights. Maybe a hero fold, I guess.
