Totally get you! Patience is the best weapon. Sometimes I even play a weak hand just to mess with their heads. Ever tried that?

Like you said, wait for a good hand and then call them is probably the best option. Then hope the cards workout.

How do I adjust my strategy? If someone constantly goes all-in preflop, I adapt by:

• Narrowing my calling range, waiting for hands like AQ+, TT+, or strong suited connectors when I have good pot odds.
• Using position—if I can make them act first, it’s easier to gauge their aggression.
• Identifying tendencies—if they’re overly wild, it doesn’t necessarily mean they have strong hands; often, they’re just applying pressure. This gives me an opportunity to isolate them with a solid hand.

Do I use the same aggression against them? Yes, but selectively. It’s smart to occasionally shift the pace and counter their aggression, especially when they start feeling too comfortable. Sometimes, a light shove can surprise them, particularly in spots where their range might be weak.

When I'm facing someone who's going all-in pre-flop frequently, I try to increase the requirement of hands to play. I try to pay with very strong hands, such as AA, KK, or QQ.
I try to stay calm and don't let myself get carried away with emotion when someone goes all-in pre-flop frequently. Because poker is a long-term game I need to make decisions based on odds and strategy.

If you wait too long, someone else will take the maniac's money or chips.

It feels safe to wait for a premium hand, but in the long run, it's better to call with a range good enough. What is good depends on how bad their range is and how often they bluff.

Just wait for a good hand and call. The mistake I see a lot of people make is they confuse a3o for a good hand.

I agree the key is patience and disipline.I would also add in to the mix try to get in cheap preflop and hit a strong hand on the flop.When you believe you have a better hand than the aggressor,go for it,full throttle.

Patience is the key

just have to wait and trap them when I have a good hand and take all their chips

* In early or mid-stage MTTs strong pocket pairs are good enough. Though it depends on how long you have been observing the agression and how often they shove in general (you don't want to find yourself hands up with pocket nines against someone who just happened to have a bunch of relatively strong hands preflop). A bit riskier play is to call them with strong aces or medium to low pocket pairs, but in these cases you will have a large chance to bust, even though it will be less than 50%. If they act after you and shove often enough, just abandon all speculative hands aka suited connectors, low pocket pairs or low suited aces or relatively stuff like JTs even, get ready to call a shove or fold, otherwise you will be just giving out your bets to the maniac who will shove over you.
Also, please, do not call shoves with hands that are only good because of the implied odds, because you have none against shovers. Have been seeing blunders like that for a while now.

* Using the same aggression is not a good idea. If someone makes mistakes - exploit them, not make the same exact mistake, it's just useless and doesn't extract value. Also you can't bluff someone who has already shoved, they will always at bare minimum see the river. If they act after you, then it only takes them to fold for you to be in a big trouble against other strong callers on the table.

Fold, and when you get a pair above 6 or an Ace with at least a 9, go all-in.

I also adjust my ranges — sometimes calling a bit wider if I know they’re shoving with junk, but I always try to stay disciplined. The key for me is to not get drawn into their chaos and focus on playing solid, calculated poker. Let them make the mistakes — and be ready to capitalize when they do.
