how do you play AA for maximum value

the other day i was playing in a tournament where i got pocket aces a couple of time in the starting phase of the tournament but did not get any value from them.. with low stacks anyone would go all-in but when all players at the table have around 50+BB how do you play and get maximum value from it

There are so many ways to play AA and everyone has to do with your position and every thing else you can think of. If you are UTG, you have to make a good size bet to run out "those callers with any two players" or you have to move all in, and even then you may still get calls from them, so be careful after the flop. From MP on you can make smaller bets and hope for 1 or 2 players to call and even better if you get a raise. The BB is the best position pre-flop and the button post-flop. No matter what don't limp from any position even if everyone folds. I would rather win $1 with them than lose $20 with them because they are hard to fold. in the first few levels of micros just open shove AA you will get called just as often as raising 3x, I think perhaps a little more.

I do agree with Jim here shoving can never be bad... however when the average is below 50bb then a 3x raise is best.

It is necessary to make a standard raise or 3-bet.

If we make a Raise, we waiting 3-bet.

If we make a 3-bet, we waiting call/all in.

3-bet must be 40-70% PSB. It all depends on trade in front of us. The smaller the trade, the less 3-bets.

If you get dealt pocket A the first thing you have to do is keep your face the same as you played the last few hands. Keep talking if you were talking before. All those changes could earn you less money.

Ofcourse you don't have that problem in online poker.

Often my previous hands decide how I will play my pocket A. If I was loose before I will play it big. If I was tight before I will raise my self to but a lot less. Otherwise no one will call you

It depends on a lot of things like BB, position, type of players, ect... But I think the important thing is to play a hand heads up. AA doesn't play well in a multi player pot.

I think it's different to play AA, if it is a tournament or is in cash. But I raise something strong in preflop so can´t will be cheap to see the flop to the villains and make a better hand than mine. It depends on my position, how many players are on the table and the type of players.

I don't always get AA, but when I do, I usually catch a bad-beat.

Seriously, though, I have been so unlucky with AA recently that my mind crumbles when I see a flop of A 4 9.

I believe in 3-betting, 4-betting and shoving preflop with aces, however, as someone already mentioned - it is critical that you put yourself in a position, where you play the hand HU.

usually u can open 3x and if someone limped before you,add 1bb more to your raise and postflop just try to go for 2-3 streets of value but be careful at the board structure

You simply have to live with the fact that AA does not guarantee you will win a big pot.

One key to getting max value though, is how you play other hands. Specifically, if you are the first to enter a pot, you should almost always be raising. You should not alter the amount of your raise based on the strength of your hand...you can alter the amount based on position - but not the value of your cards. That way, you will have disguised the fact that you have AA. The dream scenario here is if there is a loose aggressive player behind you that is not shy about re-raising you.

Sometimes the texture of the game works against you. If its a game where every one limps preflop and you are in early position, a raise probably scares everyone off...but limping in invites a multi-way pot. AA loses a lot of value in those games.

man i just hate AA...yesterday lost the tournament with Aces... I was in big blind holding aces..one player in middle position min-raised everyone except small blind folded...small blind called with 400(SB-100, BB-200)...i re-raised to 1200 the middle player folded but the SB called... flop Js 5d 9s.. i was holding one spade...so i shoved all in which was equal to half the stack of the opponent and that idiot called with KQ none spade... A gut shot call and the river was 10

Depends on the position, if I check I'll blow BB or BB for 1. If the flop turn out cards that fit again I'll take for 1/3 the flop and I will continue to raise about 1/3 of the pot all the way. There is another variant that is to check and follow the opponent, the third is risky, and that's to go all in.

Poorly when at the beginning of the tournament you get AA. The table is still cold. If you raise - a high probability that all players will fold. If you do slow playing you increase probability of losing.

Just play your usual game. It's good hand but shuld be careful against gamblers.
Probably easiest would be raise big and hope

More tricky is play it after flop.. sometimes you have to fold them then.

generaly speaking strong raiseing, but if you know that your op is a fish-station you can shove, that being said most people dont call PRF shoves with bad cards (yes sometimes you will see 92o call, but stil...) so strong raisei ~5bb are good, and on the flop you act as you need

AA , never limp at the beginning , shove if you have the reading that some loose might call , or better if you can raise very aggressively , many blinds , even if that means they will suspect you have aces , you don't care the earlier the position the more blinds you'll raise because the of the greater danger to call more villains and see the flop. It's better not to get any value at all rather than slow play or play it with small ets and then lose to some marginal cards or have many calls and lose tournament life ,

Normally I prefer to shove with my AA mainly in initial or nedium positions and when I am short stack because I will be called normally by marginal hands and when I am in final positions I prefer also shove after 2 or 3 limps or any raise to isolate and squeese the suited hands and play against hands like medium or big pairs or AK, AQ that will be dominated by my AA.
