I'm a Micro grinder, overall I guess it took a year before I started making a little cash, and I mean a little.

Depends on your skills
Depends on your poker playing skills. If you are good, you will start wining right away. If your poker playing skills leave something to be desired, it will take a little longer.

I have 4 days in a roll playing for cash my experience is the next
1.- the cash game with 80c are to damn hard (Jaja for me are, ok)
2.- if you limp you always lost money
3.- the table with 10 dlls are calm, my hypothesis is "the pressure to lose money it's more" so the key how many control of you do you have
4.- be tight and aggressive
5.- enjoy

Choose a table you feel comfortable playing at. Cash/sng/mtt, your choice. Make a good bankroll plan and watch lots of tutorials/read books. Get better.

Like any other skill, depends on whether or not you're actually studying - and learning - while playing. If you play for fun and don't learn from your mistakes and others advice then you'll likely never earn. If you do take the time to make an effort and actively learn then it still depends as we are not all identical at the micro (as opposed to macro, not referring to stakes :] ) level.
