Hello. Can I start a career with freerolls? Many poker rooms attract new players with freerolls. But the number of players and the prize pool are unlikely to fill the bankroll. I wonder if there are people who started with freerolls?
I freerolled my ASS off for nearly 1 1/2 years!
I started this way though - not because I didn't want to invest any money initially. I didn't want to 'waste' any money - because I was a total rookie at the beginning of 2019.
Now I'm a rookie with 2 years experience.
I played freerolls on every site I could play on. ACR, BetOnline, SportsBetting,
intertops, SwC, and several others.
Once I built up enough earnings - I transferred most of the earnings onto ACR - and that's how I made my first 30 dollar deposit. I made this deposit solely to make sure I could withdrawal - after I had my very first big score. (not needed btw)
Once I had built up a tiny bankroll on ACR - before transferring from other sites, 20-30 dollars - I started to play the ultra micro stakes, 10 cent & 25 cent buyins, and I started making small returns from these events, along side freeroll earnings.
After a couple more months, I had made several more scores, top 3 finishes and tourney wins - I was able to begin playing the standard micro events - but not too high, 1.50 buyin, when my bankroll exclipsed 100 bucks.
After that - kinda just kept on climbing. I've made several withdrawals of 200+ dollars and I'm currently playing the highest micro buyin events on a daily basis, and playing low buyin events 6-10k gtd every other day, and hope the gradual, moddest rise continues.
If I can do it - you might also be able to.
Playing and winning in freeroll tournaments, I agree that it is possible.
I have played and I play several times.
Sometimes I win, sometimes I don't.
But the most important thing I’ve learned over the years is that freerolls or low buy-in tournaments are more difficult to grow and improve in poker than in tournaments with larger buy-ins, like $ 1.00 to $ 5.00, for example.
In the freerolls there are a lot of fish players.
These are playing without logic and end up taking away the learning and growth of him and the other players at the table.
These are the players - experienced players WANT to play against. Of course most of the freerolls are full of fish - so therefore if you have any salt - you should be able to beat most of them. Sure the bad beat is going to happen, 55s beat A/K 44s beat JJs A/Q rivers straight to beat AA, just like it happens in every other tournament, but overall - the fish are there to give you their chips.

Take em.
