hard work dedication and discipline

it will take a lot of time that's for sure. But if you have the time discipline and you want to familiarize yourself with large multi table tournaments it will definitely help.
Another low cost alternative is play small stakes tournaments as the time spent playing may yield better returns 😀
good luck !

The best ways to start is with a freeroll, but little by little you are looking for new challenges and avoiding long games in which you have to wait for new challenges and times.

I have started a very small with texas hold em poker, small meaning I win sums like 10-20€ without any deposit, so it's very good time to spend your time. :)

I started playing freerolls in 2015, I was lucky, I made a starting bankroll and started playing cash games. Now it will be much more difficult to do it, you need to look for rooms with good freerolls and actively multi-room

Manage the money you win in freerolls wisely, and then you may soon be able to multiply your fortune at times. The main thing is not to rush. You can't win a freeroll, and in a week you can enter several tournaments and become a millionaire. Hard work on yourself and improving your skills will eventually produce results. And you can turn a few dollars into thousands.

But all these are good fairy tales – you will say. Show me a person who was able to earn money on poker without a deposit. In fact, there are such players, and not just one.

I won first place out of 10,000 people. And more than once in tournaments I got into the money, while I did not make a deposit. At the end of 2017, I quit playing, three weeks ago I started playing 2 tournaments a day again, and in the third tournament I got into the money again. So if you have patience, you can start your career with free admission.

Hello. Can I start a career with freerolls? Many poker rooms attract new players with freerolls. But the number of players and the prize pool are unlikely to fill the bankroll. I wonder if there are people who started with freerolls?
It is a good idea, you become familiar with the poker programs, the configurations, the betting bars, which is also very important, through the positions at the tables. So I started playing poker. I wish you luck.:D

I believe the most important thing to do if you wanna keep this path is when you win keep the money to increase your bankroll and in the future you will feel confortable to play in a high stack. You should use this money that you win to play higher stacks with bigger buy-in and this way you can make your path.

so yes its possible to do it but the learning curve to become a professional takes time to walk.

it is definitely possible. you need to pick the right freerolls and then build from there. a lot of freerolls on acr and unibet. pick a few daily according to your time and preference and build slowly and you can eventually reach a target. Patience is important

Yes, this is definitely possible, especially with the cardschat freerolls. It may take a while to build your bankroll, but you can definitely build a solid bankroll without investing a cent and then start playing chash games. With a good bankroll management you will never go broke. If you want to play No Limit cash games later, you need a much higher bankroll than playing in fixed limit. In No Limit games, 100 big blinds are one buy-in. That means in NL2 (0.01 / 0.02) your buy-in is $ 2. Since you should have at least 25 buy-ins, the lower limit is $ 2 * 25 = $ 50. You should have a little more than $ 50 on your side, as you can gamble away all of your buy-in in one hand. With fixed limit you need at least 300 big bets. If you play in the lower limit (0.02 / 0.04) you need at least $ 12 ($ 0.04 * 300). So you can start earlier.

tip

Freerolls does not pay much. It is a good way to practice and play without spending money. But nobody gets rich on it

Hello. Can I start a career with freerolls? Many poker rooms attract new players with freerolls. But the number of players and the prize pool are unlikely to fill the bankroll. I wonder if there are people who started with freerolls?

I freerolled my ASS off for nearly 1 1/2 years!

I started this way though - not because I didn't want to invest any money initially. I didn't want to 'waste' any money - because I was a total rookie at the beginning of 2019.
Now I'm a rookie with 2 years experience. :)

I played freerolls on every site I could play on. ACR, BetOnline, SportsBetting, intertops, SwC, and several others.
Once I built up enough earnings - I transferred most of the earnings onto ACR - and that's how I made my first 30 dollar deposit. I made this deposit solely to make sure I could withdrawal - after I had my very first big score. (not needed btw)

Once I had built up a tiny bankroll on ACR - before transferring from other sites, 20-30 dollars - I started to play the ultra micro stakes, 10 cent & 25 cent buyins, and I started making small returns from these events, along side freeroll earnings.

After a couple more months, I had made several more scores, top 3 finishes and tourney wins - I was able to begin playing the standard micro events - but not too high, 1.50 buyin, when my bankroll exclipsed 100 bucks.

After that - kinda just kept on climbing. I've made several withdrawals of 200+ dollars and I'm currently playing the highest micro buyin events on a daily basis, and playing low buyin events 6-10k gtd every other day, and hope the gradual, moddest rise continues.

If I can do it - you might also be able to.

Playing and winning in freeroll tournaments, I agree that it is possible.
I have played and I play several times.
Sometimes I win, sometimes I don't.
But the most important thing I’ve learned over the years is that freerolls or low buy-in tournaments are more difficult to grow and improve in poker than in tournaments with larger buy-ins, like $ 1.00 to $ 5.00, for example.
In the freerolls there are a lot of fish players.
These are playing without logic and end up taking away the learning and growth of him and the other players at the table.
These are the players - experienced players WANT to play against. Of course most of the freerolls are full of fish - so therefore if you have any salt - you should be able to beat most of them. Sure the bad beat is going to happen, 55s beat A/K 44s beat JJs A/Q rivers straight to beat AA, just like it happens in every other tournament, but overall - the fish are there to give you their chips. :) Take em.

Actually on iPoker network its probably even more easy, players there are soft. But i personally love ACR software.
Ty for your answer! It’s perfect... so i stop loose my Time with pokerstars! 👍😉

I think that a lot of players started their way in poker in this way. We just decided to give it a try, and it got too long. Gradually you get involved in the game - you start to win, there is excitement. And freerolls are always nice. You can experiment, try different tactics. Playing in tournaments is not always possible to afford experiments.:icon_bigs

What do you mean by "career"/ as of quitting your daily job and make Poker as a sole income? It's doable, but it's a decades-long grind. By the time you can safely enter the life-changing tourneys (and win), it's a slippery slope, and you better know your game. But... it's not impossible - how much grit do you have?

It is very unlikely, but possible with a lot of luck to live off of poker with playing freerolls and moving up. I suggest having a part time job to see if you have what it takes to make it full time.

Well, thats a tricky question.

From the good side. I think you can learn many things from the poker sites through freerolls. And you can learn many things how to play the game, how to act and react to different situations. Maybe building up in you some comfort to play braver and better. And hey, there's no risk.

From the bad side. You can stick easily in the freeroll circle where your improvements can stop, and can get a totally different picture about yourself what you are capable of. It is more likely entertaining then earning money, they are not paying huge cashes to even make a step to move on.

So playing freerolls in general can be worthy and bad at the same time. Time is a treasure, you know. But for example a good freeroll club, what CC have too is profitable, and enjoyable. So choose the freerolls wisely, and choose it wisely that how much time do you want to spend there too.
:)

start in free-rolls, then a career, yes, it is possible..

Free-rolls are a safe way to find out how good you are, without paying anything.

A poker career, playing free-rolls, you won't get rich, but it may be a stepping stone for a career as a poker player. A player has to be hopeful, positive, you never know until the cards are dealt, in poker and in life.
I say, yes, you can start a poker career with free-rolls. It would be interesting how many poker pros came up with and without free-rolls experience.

Freeroll is a good start for every potential poker player.
But in a long run is not enough. Somehow people play different way and you don’t see lots of great players often.
But it is still a good way to learn a bit and have a lot of fun.
I like it!

For playing the really big games it’s hard, my next goal is to get into the Sunday Million with freeroles into satellites. Mate it up the the 215 target but failed 😞
