Preflop with low pair, what to do?

2/2 to 9/9 raise to get the dreamers out of the pot. 1010 JJ QQ KK 3BB and raise after the flop. AA 3BB pre flop and raise until the end. Do you agree?

Good strategy! Raising with medium pairs up to 99 to clear the dreamers makes sense. From 1010 and up, raising 3BB and remaining aggressive on the flop keeps the pressure on. And with AA, raise preflop and continue strong until the end without giving anyone a chance to see a free card. I agree.

Everyone probably has their own style of play, but the strategy you described will only lead to losses in my opinion. I've been playing poker for over 7 years, and I've already realized that you need to be very careful when playing with small pairs. It is better to fold if the situation is unfavorable than to end the game prematurely.

I am confused by your statements 22-99 what size raise to get dreamers to fold? From what position are you raising these pairs and at what stack depth and why do you think 99 = 22 for similar strategy? I think your results would improve if you refined your preflop pair ranges We want to be folding 22 often if we are deep and early position.

I’m ok with raising all these preflop. On the flop it matters what is actually on the flop, as well as the turn, and the river. This is a great way to go broke by blindly raising AA all the way to the end. Good luck!

It all depends on the format, structure and stage of the tournament. I'm usually not ready to take risks with small or medium pairs. I usually try to make a call and see the flop, and then I act according to the circumstances. Although sometimes there are situations in which, if I understand my opponent, I can go all-in.
