I used to play poker semi professionally during my early 20s. I stopped playing due to personal reasons. I'm 40 now and I want to play poker again. I understand that the game is different now and I want to study the game and be better. May I know the best sources to study poker.

To learn the basics, I recommend taking the "Basics" course at pokercoaching.com. I believe it's still free. It's a collection of videos that will walk you through the basic rules, explain which hands beat others, and provide basic strategy. Going through something structured will help you progress much faster than watching random YouTube videos. After completing the course, you'll be much better able to understand poker tutorials on YouTube.

The action behind every hand (which busts you out of a tournament) itself is a learning point!
At some point you’ll start realising that those are the same mistakes you’re committing every now and then!
Here then comes the learning curve of avoiding all those unwanted calls by divorcing lucrative hands at times when your innerself tells you not to call but your brain clicks the call button!

The game is not different, the rules did not change.

What has changed is that more players take the game serious, fish grew up or gave up.
Also, the number of good material for studies on poker play has increased vastly.

All forms of exploitation (poker play) still exist and with solvers the ways of learning how and why they work has changed.
