If you're starting with a small bankroll, remember: it's not about how fast you grow it — it's about how long you keep it alive.
Many players make the mistake of jumping into higher stakes too quickly after a small win. That’s usually where everything goes wrong. A few bad hands, and you're back to zero.
The key is discipline:
Stick to proper bankroll management
Avoid emotional decisions after losses
Be patient and wait for good spots
Poker is a long-term game. Even the best players have losing sessions — what separates them is how they manage risk.
Build slowly. Stay consistent. The results will come.
What’s your biggest challenge when playing with a small bankroll?

My biggest challenge is maintaining my bankroll.

I always want to move up quickly; it's rarely happened, but it was very good.

Consistency and study are what make you overcome challenges. I'm coming back now, and I hope to have more awareness of what to do in these games and how to manage my bankroll.

Any suggestions or a guide how to don't affect your bankroll so much :) thanks a lot hopefully, this thread will be helpful to read.

Use no more than 2% of your bankroll for a tournament or sit and go and no more than 5% for a cash game session, as your bankroll goes down you play at lower levels but as it goes up you play at higher levels, this mean you will find your level for your bankroll.

The OP is spot on in maintaining a small BR alive as long as possible & there could be small gains too. But the big challenge is to significantly grow the bankroll... & that is another story.
