Do you think that it can be a good idea if parents teach poker to their young children?
Or maybe poker can be taught in elementary school.
Did your parent show you how to play poker when you were younger?

My Mum tought me and my brothers Gin Rummy by I always thought it was Jim rummy lol

We'd play for points... It wasn't until I was about ten or eleven that I started to win on points, my brothers didn't do so well...

Poker wasn't some thing we learned earlier than gin rummy

I think it is not right to teach children to play cards.
But you have to teach them to be patient, disciplined, consistent, persistent and purposeful.

There are great card games, I don’t think that actual cards are bad while Hearthstone or whatever is not. I’d personally start teaching poker to my child as soon as the kid develops formal logic.
It’s what you can be playing till you are 90 yo, so in a way, it’s a way better investment than football or alike.

I agree. Poker is a skilled wagering game relying heavily on logic and math. If a child is interested in learning about it, I think that's really cool. But I would also teach my daughter about the risks involved in gambling at that point, and would probably hold off on driving her to the local casino for a few years :)

I think playing poker from an early age is not bad you can not just let poker influence your life you have to play it to entertain yourself, I started playing from age 12, an uncle taught me, plus what I saw on TV but never addiction of small with poker but if it caught my attention

Previously, we considered any game of cards of a minor youth as a bad upbringing. Now it is easier to look at. But since poker is a gamble, then no one wants to involve young people in gambling. They even prohibit. Moreover, even slot machines are banned here.

At all our family celebrations we finish the evening playing poker. The youngest ones love a lot and in addition they manage to win us. That's really nice.:):)

When I was young, my father's peace of mind taught me how to play chess. I really had a good time with him trying to beat him at all costs.what I almost never could do. thanks to that, I realized that not only did I hate to lose but that I wanted to be fooled at all costs by the spirit of competion. when friends taught me the basics of poker. it was a click and I immediately fall in love with this game.
I think teaching poker to the youngest is a good thing. Complex card games favor the understanding of instructions and the development of logic. a toddler can develop his mathematical skills, because when playing he can practice counting and reading numbers.

If a family program for poker and the child wants to learn, then teach it. I don't think it's a good idea at school. I don't care about many kids. I have been studying the Internet, books for half a year. My parents can't play poker. [emoji846]

Hi.
I think it is a good idea to teach children to play poker. Poker is a game that develops well logic, so the benefits of such training will be obvious.
Good luck.

My father didn't teach me but when he occasionally played, I'd watch. We did play cribbage nearly every night. It's got cards, strategy, luck and an opponent. Sound familiar. Teach your kids whatever you want. Life is short. Good luck.
