At live games, if youre not in a hand its usually ok but it has to not be in a hand.

Some folks watch events on their phones while playing, few even type in live game hands while others are playing poker or doing some poker training. Doesnt matter, as long as theyre not in a hand then it shouldnt matter.

But you should ask ask at the poker room check in or the dealer before playing around with that or ask about casino policy about taking video or photos in a casino.

I avoid all the controversy by only using a pager at the live table

In all seriousness it depends on the house rules but I don't see a lot of issue with them being used by players who have already folded their cards but I guess it's how everyone handles it. In general I think people who are trying to collude are going to have a better system than sending a text saying I folded As 3d to another guy at the table, they would use hand signals and maybe a vibrating Morris Code receiver hidden somewhere in their persons.

I don't know how website blocking works but I would be more concerned with people trying to pull up GTO Wizard or something similar to know what they are supposed to open or defend with in their NEXT hand than people using a phone to blatantly collude over straight forward methods.

Just my thoughts tho I'm sure there's a huge amount of tools on both sides I'm unaware of and thus don't have a full picture of things anyways.

I would avoid playing J4o if you're worried about catching extra scrutiny in a live game, or looking down at your crotch too much.

Shout out to my girl Robbie Lew and throw shade at Mikey Postle

If you are talking about the use of mobile devices during a live game, I would be against it. I believe that the use of mobile devices during a live game should be banned. A break is enough to make a call or check your messengers.

Don’t think ANY mobile device should be allowed in table games. They could cause problems and can be a distraction for any player, and even for the dealer - this from an ex-dealer.

I've seen some players playing live tournaments with a tablet while playing online at the same time, I don't think it's good for the performance factor, because you won't be able to perform at your best in both.

Its definitely advisable to not call a big 3-bet jam on the turn with J4 high and no draw and then say, you thought, your opponent might have A high, when he ask you about, why you did it :LOL::LOL:

They should not be allowed at any table. They affect the concentration of your opponents and, in addition, they can give you a great advantage if you use statistical software.

I agree that mobile devices can be used for live poker. I follow a player who lives in Las Vegas and regularly plays at the cash games; he uploads videos every day.
It's a way to share what's happening in poker.

I think it’s great everyone has there phones at the table. Not great during the hand obviously. But if people want to move their concentration off of what I’m doing I’m all for it! Phones, tv’s, waitresses bringing booze, loud slots, I love it all.
Besides we wouldn’t be able to see all the funny crap that happens in live poker, like tilts that leads to fights, blow ups, etc. I just saw a fight today online from Red Rock poker room in Vegas, people can’t control themselves and it does make for entertainment.

Let's say people do many things to confuse other players or to make some fun...
From , I didn't take a shower for a week to smell bad at the live tourney ,to I wear a Motorcycle helmet ...:)

I don't mind the use of them at the table but they should be not allowed in a hand. The odd thing i notice in last years wsop was people videoing there all in when they were the short stack. While I dont mind it it should not be allowed based on the new rules.

I would not like to see my opponents at the table using smartphones or other mobile devices during the game. I believe that the use of mobile devices during live play is unacceptable.
