Thoughts on a new tell

So I was playing in a tournament last night against an aggressive over-bluffer. I noticed something that I have never seen before in poker, and was wondering if anybody had any thoughts/experience with this tell.

When he raised, if he was expecting a call, he would put in the exact amount of chips he intended to raise with. However, if he was expecting folds, he would just one-chip and say the amount he wanted to raise by. I presumed this was because he didn't want to count out chips when he was going to keep them all and also didn't want to deal with change if they went into the pot.

Noticing this, I started playing so that if he just put in the one, over-sized chip, I'd reraise him (if it was sensible or a good marginal hand), knowing that he was likely to just fold his hand. This worked about 4 times before he was taken out by another player.

Anybody have any thoughts?

it is always good to find a tell on someone else.
when i was starting i had a couple of friends who were starting too we sat around watching each other while we dealt so we could eliminate our most telling tells.

Just made a mental of note of this . Players do this at my local casino . Very good line on betting tells. Will have to look closer at this one chip bet. Thanks for the insight.

Nice pick up you made a profit off of this tell. 4 times is a nice return on your keen insight. Hope you find other tells later on in poker. I will try to see if players use this tell with who I play with in the future.
