For me, one of the most important things when playing against someone is getting to know the villain, so the notes are fundamental for you to stand out from your opponents and don't forget that your opponents will also take notes of you

notes can hide you the truth sometimes, few things are really static

I rarely take notes. I use color marking more to identify my opponent's level
