Have you ever made friends playing Poker?

Almost all of my friends play poker and that is how I actually met most of them. Went on a poker cruise with one poker friend and ended up making more friends on the cruise. Even though all of my cruise friends live throughout the country we all still stay in touch to this day and I feel that most of us will be friends for the rest of our lives. It’s nice to have friends that understand poker and that you can talk to about poker. Making friends at a poker table is part of the joy of poker.

I have made several online friends actually playing online poker, but never met in real life with them, beacuse often they live on the other side of the globe, wich complicates it a bit.

I myself like to be friends with everyone I meet at the poker tables drinks anyone ???? . I really haven't ran into to many online folks but when I do its blast drinks for everyone lol

some of my best friends are the ones that I used to play poker win every second week. It was more of a social event with a game of cards as a bonus. We used to share a few stories and have lots of laughs and ………….. of course...… a few beers.

Here is an interesting story for you guys. Especially those of you who insinuated that you cannot make friends playing poker online :
In February 2006, I happened to be on an 18 players SNG on PS. When we were 3 left, I started chatting with this lady (She had her pic as avatar). So from "nh", "good fold" etc.., we ended up exchanging our email addresses and after a few days our phone numbers. She then lived in Ohio and I in New York. Comes August (6 months later), She was living with me and 3 years later, we moved to Ohio and got married ! I still have hard time believing that things happened that way. And through Pokerstars no less !

Sometimes I make volatile friends at poker but just on the current table. But when we change table, all gone. And if we meet again at the same tourney this is fun, but only this.

Of course, that's even how I started playing poker years ago. I only started playing online this year, I wanted to become better and play tournaments, not that an evening with friends around a poker table is unpleasant but I needed more ...
