:ROFLMAO:

But seriously:

It's true that lower stakes are probably safer because it is not worth the risk of getting caught for insignificant money.

BUT... They can use lower stakes to train and test the bots or other cheating software.

When I played on the Swedish government/state-owned site I noticed bots that were easy to beat but won against the low stake population (several millions in Swedish Kronor).

This was way back in 2012.

When I called the company they just laughed at me and said that bots were not possible to run on their site.

2015 the bot makers were sued for damages and Swedish Games gave money back to people who had lost money to the bots.

I didn't get anything since I had been winning against the bots. Neither did they thank me for exposing the bot ring.

Most of the documentation is in Swedish: https://www.google.se/search?q=svenska+spel+bot+poker

But consider that winning bots were on this site (and some American sites even earlier) over 10 years ago!!!

We all know how much solvers and AI have evolved since then.

If you play like a fish, you lose like a fish. Then they are the ones who cry saying that everything is fixed... then they go back to playing like a fish and thus the infinite wheel.

I have no doubt that they are used in micro limits.
A few different times on Partypoker 'FastForward' (< Z00M-style) I was fairly certain of some. One of things I would notice would be an influx of new players to the player pool, seemingly from out of nowhere and then playing 10hrs./day, 4-tabling and playing very Aggro and fairly decent.
And then a few weeks later and POOF... a bunch would be gone but then there'd be another dozen or so new names in the player pool (player pools were not that large. I am typically always 4-tabling but I am an excessive note-taker... & at minimum I have a note on every reg. in the pool (& then anyone who plays hands oddly or straying from typical (recs., fish, aggro-fish, stations, passive limpers, etc. etc.). Pretty much everyone gets a color-tag lol.
I also have a habit of tossing the 'hand-waving' emoji at a bunch of the other regs. (most respond with same.. and now many initiate it when I sit down at table too). It's a bit re-assuring that they're not a bot (but... I have heard that you can sit in while running some of the BOTS and play some hands, chat, etc.)
I've actually seen the same thing happen again at Partypoker quite recently. Although it happened just after they stopped having the 'All-in Cashout' feature on FastForward tables. I spoke with a rep. to inquire why that feature was de-activated and they responded that there was a pending case of 2 players who were somehow abusing of it in some manner (but they wouldn't expand further) and to this day that feature still isn't working and a handful of regs. are no longer playing on the site.
I've also received more than one refund while playing on those tables.
It sure sucks and I wish they could police it better. Maybe if they had something where the player had to have a webcam to play and on a certain cue would have to show it is them who is playing (888 used to have webcam tables).
I don't think I'll ever play above Low stakes MTT (maybe some mid.) but I can imagine the sites at some point will be infiltrated fully & no level will be safe from bots & rta

How about we just let online poker resolve into a battleground for various bot farms?

Unfair? online poker, hmm, lets see,

-Black Friday,

-the Ubet Scandal with dirty Russ Hamilton,

-online players having multiple IDs at the same site and rejoining tourns once eliminated to the point where someone like Justin Bonomo admitted to doing that.

-having so called "poker pros" with the low cost of living multi tabling some uber beginner level like 1/2 cent or 2/5 cent holdem or whatever beginner level and they're just destroying uber beginners and patting themselves on the back while berating the plays of uber beginners while thinking they can play, lol. Yeah good job folks, lol (sarcasm).

-people somehow getting bots to play for them online.

-ever play heads up cash and if someone wins a few pots decides to quit on you? Yeah. And you know their game is trash from all the donk plays they did to get ahead.

-hackers going after the site causing a disruption or players. Name it, they'll mess something up because they're . . .

-ever put a big chunk of money in the pot while not all in or you're a few places from the money in a tourn and you get disconnected??? lol

-people sharing hand histories so other players that have never played against you come up with a way to beat you or at least have a clue what you are, lol.

-forget the hand histories there are sites like sharkscope even today that was around during the boom where you can look someone up and know what they are before even playing a hand with them, lol. and that leads into poker aids online.

-and the number one thing I hate about online poker is all the silly aids and add on programs that people do not have while playing live. Someone can play you years before and know exactly how you play by your stats if they are still playing that same style. That's ridiculous. And its not the players figuring it out but the program telling them exactly how to categorize their opponent and then they can apply the way to approach the opponent.

That's utter nonsense. If you haven't developed that skill then it shouldn't be given to you externally. That's costing someone money as you should have to pay to figure out what they are and not have some program like a tracker figure it out for you.

Never had any of this nonsense playing live.

I have never taken anything from online poker serious. Its a joke and at best kills time while entertaining myself.

You can also use it for training purposes to sharpen some of the technical aspects of the game. Just like playing against a chess computer can train you for live chess matches.

But I agree: poker online is now a type of either a social game or a distraction from reality just like casino games.

There are of course different forms of cheating in LIVE poker also, but LIVE Cash games are probably the last and best opportunity if anyone still dreams of going professional or earning a significant amount of money not only because of pure luck.

If you look for conspiracy theories it's better not to play poker or even do anything else that touches probabilities. We can say that it's the beauty if maths. In the long term probability wins over accidentality. There is nothing more. If poker sites cheated they would eventually lose all their customers/ players. And The more customers the higher profits. They don't earn money on cheating. Obviously there might be cheaters but it's nothing we can do about it.

Ty to find? It's an everyday story, but you actually let it all go over time.
The best thing you can do is not to deal with the whole thing, sit in, play, enjoy, and then either win or lose. You don't have to insist on winning, just play without any expectations, then luck can be on your side.

(👆) Does anyone remember crack? It was/is probably the dumbest drug out there w/all the warnings and red flags but it, apparently, was a best seller. I'm not drawing a linear direction between the two I'm just saying people don't really care about the consequences as long as they get to do what they want, imo. Perfect example... Cigarettes. They don't even get you high. I mean they're like tits on a nun, pointless; but folx gotta have 'em up. Sorry for the rant. 😤

the world is unfair.
poker sometimes rewards the worst play, we all know that.
but no one plays mistakenly, because sometimes we are also rewarded by making bad plays.
but unfortunately human beings are very selective.
