Very sad!
Even in India it’s banned now!
There’s so much amount of skill involved in it along with luck!
Who’ll explain the authorities though! 🫡

An exception is made for online sports betting, which may be licensed by the Minister of Finance.

There are many countries like that. EU exhibits tighter regulations to those sorts of things in general, it seems. Are the room sites blocked? Do the rooms close your accounts/not allow registration?

P.S. Allowing sportsbooks (or lottery) is a joke, but I have seen that before...

I think, there are still some online poker sites accepting players living in Poland like ACR Poker for instance. And according to others also GG Poker, which is the largest site of them all. So is this actually even a problem, or are we just talking about some sites like PokerStars no longer being available to people living in Poland?

Well, I still think the situation of poker in Poland is at least "surprising" or I would even call it ridiculous.
Gambling in general is not banned in Poland - there is alot of licensed casinos, you are free to play casino games both life and online. Same with sport betting. Just not poker.
The gov't banned the one game where you can make +EV bets. That SUX. "Black Friday" was bad enough in the US of A as this really puts a limit on available sites to play.

I’m not surprised at all with that WEF looney Donald Tusk as Prime Minister and I fear more countries will follow.

No, it has nothing to do with the currently ruling government.
It is the old regulation from 2009, with some update from 2017.

The problem is, none of 2 biggest political parties who can possibly rule is interested in changing anything in this area - it is just so, so FAR from any priority issues.

So we have an old regulation banning online poker, and at the same time online poker developing rapidly.
Luckily these regulations are not enforced - noone tries to "catch" online players. At leats so far - who knows, what the future can bring...

Online poker is banned in Poland. You can play in casinos, but the game (winnings) are taxed so heavily that it's completely unprofitable. Initially, many poker rooms ignored this online gaming ban. Recently, however, this has begun to change for the worse. Currently, Polish players cannot play in poker rooms such as PokerStars, Unibet, 888, or PartyPoker. They also cannot play in any room on the iPoker or Entain networks. The only options left are GGPoker, WPTGlobal, CoinPoker, the Chico network, the WPN network, and a few lesser-known poker rooms.

Here in Brazil we've already been through this, however, today poker is fully regulated and is not classified as gambling but rather as a mind sport. I hope the Polish people will have the same evolution.

This however is just as much - or more - choise than players have in several other countries. So seems like a bit of a non-issue to be honest :)

Is there any other country in Europe (apart from Poland) where playing online poker is completely banned?

That's really unlucky for for you guys. When poker here about cards they immediately lean on the bad side, gambling, addition etc but it's not like that
It's actually more deeper than that
Poker is who we are

Online poker is banned in Poland both domestically and on international sites... however a lot of Polish players are on various sites... and the taxation of other gambling is high... I hope they don't get any idea in Romania too...

To be honest you should be proud of your country! Any serious country wouldn't allow huge scams such as online poker to profit from their civilians.
