Yes... chat is a big part of poker,
although I agree people online
tend to abuse the chat but that's no reason for there to be no chat at all....

When I play, I don't use chat, in fact it is disabled, as I play at several tables, I wouldn't have time or ability to read, write and answer

Personally, I don't really need chat, I communicate very rarely and very little. I usually try not to be distracted by conversations or comments. But in general, I believe that chat should be available, and it is definitely better when it is available than when it is not.

Its not that big of a deal to me. But when I play on ACR, I do miss the option to chat a little bit. Not that I am using the chat all the time on PokerStars, but its nice to be able to sometimes say a few words like "nice hand", "good game" or similar, especially at a final table. So I do think, sites should have a chat function and then just deal with people abusing it.

For me, communication during the game is definitely not a priority. Conversations, even with friends, are still distracting. That's why I also rarely socialise, only if there is an obvious need. In general, I don't care if a poker platform has a chat room for communication or not.

I think chat is a good tool when used for the right reasons..

Its great to say hi to friends, to wish players well (and i mean it too), if they beat me - fair play but being a fair sport is important to me.

I also as others have mentioned like to acknowledge a good play as much as also query a loose one or what i perceive to be a loose call without it being personal or a criticism, you can extract good information sometimes too.

So yes - im a fan of writing in a room but not excessively.

It's always good to socialize with others, some will talk a little and another a little more, but I definitely don't see a problem with people writing while playing poker

I support it and use it. When I play poker for a long time at the same limits, I know almost all the regulars, and we sometimes chat right during the game. Usually, it's something trivial like congratulations on a hand you won or something like that, or we discuss the past hands we played. Believe me, chatting can be very useful, especially if your opponents are decent people

I like the option to chat…..no one has to use it, and can easily turn it off.

Especially in CC games or in the kate stages of a tourney. It’s good to have a bit of banter. Poker can be a lively game sat staring at a computer for hours!!

Don't care in tournament if playing heads up ya might talk a bit to someone show hands try to manipulate mentally but otherwise ? Just want ability to take notes on play and players ...could do on own folder excel program or word etc..but ya i doubt id play much at such a place I need my notes on people and hands they play how they play them for future plays

I like to sometimes be abel o react to a person play just to intimidate if they are being bullies or to simply say great play. But I understand that the language issue is a problem because people can use other languages or make up their own just to cheat.

Unfortunately, some people use this space to disrespect an opponent, whether because of a bad beat or just because the other person plays better. Because of this, I prefer that this resource not be used.

I don't like chatting, and I only do it when it's absolutely necessary.

There are times when you don't have hands and you can write in the chat, I personally don't usually talk much but when I do it is always when something very surprising happens in my hand.
