So I opened a new bank account at CIBC for online stuff. It is a visa Debit card account that I thought would make my online life easier. Because it is not a credit card account, I feel more secure having a simple bank account linked to my online transactions because no one can hack my account and steal more than what I have in the account.

I tried to deposit on PokerStars via Interac e -Transfer. The process stops when they ask me for a recipient phone number (must be Canadian). An online interaction with the supremely helpful Customer Service at Stars resulted in the tremendously helpful advice to contact Interac.

My question is How do Canadians deposit on PokerStars?

And then, out of nowhere, I receive TWO email notifications of deposit:

One at 3:50 and another at 4:22. I guess both my attempts worked? Even though I only proceeded to the end with one?:confused::confused:

I love Interac e-transfer! Made my first deposit to GGPoker yesterday using that method. Worked flawlessly and instantly!

Is there a fee associated with buying these cards?

That sounds good. Funny though that they charge tax on something that is basically a cash equivalent.

I have used instadebit.com for years without any issues, they charge $1.50 per transaction
It’s a Canadian company and are connected to all Canadian Banks so no need to open a new account.

If you have a CIBC bank account, you don't need to use the Visa Debit card. You can transfer directly from your bank account using Instant eChecks.

If you have a regular checking account at most major Canadian banks (RBC, BMO, Scotia Bank) and you have online access to your account, Interac E Transfer is simple (takes a minute to answer some questions and fill in some info) and within a minute you have your money deposited into PokerStars or GG, I even deposit at Unibet. RBC is the best, Scotia Bank can take 30 minutes for some reason. Avoid any Visa/MC cards even the prepaid as these companies will not transfer money to any gambling site online.

Visa has cut off online gaming it seems. I can not use the prepaid cards and the bank won't allow an e-transfer with my account.
