Sealswithclubs has closed it's doors: https://www.cardschat.com/news/seals-with-clubs-bitcoin-online-poker-site-shuts-down-10063

2015-02-20

Loyal players,

Effective immediately, SealsWithClubs will cease providing Bitcoin poker and will be shutting down all operations except to allow player funds to be withdrawn for a limited period of time. SealsWithClubs is, and has been, completely solvent up to this point in operations.
WE URGE ALL PLAYERS TO WITHDRAW THEIR FUNDS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. PLAYERS SHOULD CEASE ALL ACTIVITY TO THEIR ACCOUNT DEPOSIT ADDRESSSES NOW.
On approximately February 11th, 2015, several events occurred related to operational security that we consider to indicate SealsWithClubs now operates in a perpetual state of jeopardy. We will not divulge details publically, but they may come to light if any team member chooses to come forward of their own volition at a later date. All player funds and data remain intact and the issue was not software related. We do not believe any of our Bitcoin wallets used in operations to be compromised or lost. However, this event has made the majority vote of the ownership and team agree that shutting down operations is the best move for safety and security purposes.

I'm sorry to hear this. I never managed to get off the ground there with a freeroll. I didn't know enough about how bitcoins work to put money into it.

Does anyone know any more details of what actually happened? Was always skeptical of the bitcoin thing but I guess this just had to do with site security and nothing to do with bitcoin issues?

Lol, that vid really puts things into perspective. They should have added a scene where Sheldon Adelson is checking his bank account which is showing billions of dollars. Then have him throw a fit and call LEO claiming his casino has been robbed of millions because a few people choose to play poker online rather than fly to vegas and play at his casino!

I'm kind of sad to see Seals go down. I actually still have some chips on there but nothing to be worried about. I only played on seals for fun mostly and never deposited a lot.

I wonder what this could imply for other U.S. online poker sites? I'd sure hate to see a domino effect and have us loose carbon or bovada! That would be terrible. I'm hoping to renounce my citizenship and move to the UK or Australia eventually but unfortunately it's 10x easier to become a citizen of the U.S. than it is to abandon your citizenship from this country..

They were running an unlicensed site in Nevada, a regulated market. It was bound to happen. The exact same reason some sites have exited New Jersey.

Cheers!
