One thing about 888 I don't understand is how the sitters hands are played and payed as if they are not sitting out.

You just need to raise and the sitting out player auto folds

There is no evidencie in the screenshot provided that op did not receive any cards or that the cards were not visible.

I play on this App almost daily for years and never ever had that problem.

The other posts of OP itt also did not convince me that this really happened.
