Hello there

I recently received an e-mail from partypoker saying that regrettably, from the 29th of August players in New Zealand won't be able to play on their site anymore.

Does anyone know why they'd want to lessen their play base? Has anyone from other countries received the same e-mail? Is there a partypoker rep on CardsChat that knows what's up?

Thanks

partypoker official thread

online poker is slowly dying. Until governments realize how much better it is for poker players (i.e. their citizens) to have access to larger player pools, they will never tax online "gambling" activity appropriately, and will just keep adding poker killing restrictions.

I'm from Ukraine. About 3-4 months ago, PartyPoker also stopped its activities in my and neighboring countries. Apparently, this site is simply ending its activity.

I don't know the situation in other countries but in the Netherlands , where I live, at some point, a few years ago, online gambling got regulated by the Government.

This meant, from that time companies who offer online gambling , including poker, had to get Government permission to being able to offer these games.

Unfortunately Partypoker and Pokerstars did not get such a permission and so couldn't offer their services in the Netherlands anymore.

Maybe this happens In New Zealand now, which could be the reason Partypoker has to quit its activities.

Bonjour

Merci
Yes me too from Morocco

No, it has nothing to do with the country, it's simply that partypoker may be shutting down its site.

Dam I had $400 on there guess l can kiss that goodbye.
Our government is trying to screw with racehorse betting becaise when we bet overseas they can't tax it. Our local TAB gives timid odds so they drive us to Betfair and others.
If they close our ability to bet overseas I will stop betting.
I guess their next target will be overseas poker sites.
They are quite happy to let morons waste millions on poker machines however. They get big taxes on them and meanwhile the addicted idiots that play them starve their families.

Pretty sure you are allowed to withdraw your funds. But better do it sooner rather than later.
