Does anyone know why PS changed their play money structures for cash games and SnGs? The cash games used to be 5/10, but know the smallest is 50/100. The smallest SnG used to be 1K, and now it is 10K.

I noniced it 5 days ago , thought it was a problem to my account only ,maybe a restriction or whatever . I didn't send them an email , I have bothered them a lot lately .
Maybe it 's because many had a lot of chips , many thousands , so they changed it for these games to be more interesting , who knows , hope they're testing it for sometime and take it back , it was much better as it was .
They changed even the zoom I loved to play .
Now the only way to play 1$ 10$ play money is on the slots on the casino games .

I think because they now allow you to reload 12000 chips every few hours.

I hadn't noticed till I read this. Both explanations would make sense. Perhaps this is a way to curb the "black market" sale of Play Money chips?

Ok .thanks. I didn't know it. I'm gonna start playing again those tournaments , with 10k now buy in . I'm sorry for my play money bankroll , I earned it hard and now it's not much , almost nothing ...

I did send them an email asking about this. They basically said that they analyzed how the players played and what they played and changed it this way because of that.
I say it is just a dirty cash grab.
The people with a bankroll already aren't affected much but a new player will use it up in the first game he/she plays and then will have to wait whole 4 hours to play more OR pay real money to be able to play.
Pretty retarded from pokerstars if you ask me.

+1 I didn't know about the reload option. It kind of cheapens the game now. I took pride in my small BR that I had and used some BRM to build it. Thanks P

How did players play, and how will this change that? Not everyone had huge rolls so I'm not sure how the 10K min is a good thing. Not shooting the messenger. I wonder if PS has a rep on here like ACR does.

the play money inflation speed is like rocket high.

PS: would think it is easy to get 1 million play chips by sitting at Limited table and continues reload.

There must be a hook to it. Seems a lot easier to build a big play money bankroll like this. Reload can't be 3 times per hour for 12,000? doesn't seem to make sense.

Does not matter if they increase it or decrease it since it just a play money. The only thing I can think why they do that to simulate a player has more chips to play. Then they might encourage them to try playing the real thing.

I think they done this, so there would be less "any two cards all-in goers". At least I feel that now there is more serious play, rather than lottery. So I kinda think it's good. The amount they give you once in 4h seems to be strange thou - 12.5k. Oh, and yes, you can top up your chips even if you haven't gone broke.

It's 12,500 every 4 hours (240 minutes). Not really going to build a BR unless you are scripting the top up.

I enjoy playing on the play money tables at Poker Stars.

Surprising, there are some good players there.

Back in the day.

Back in the day. In the good old days, I use to sell play money to create a bank roll.

Use to me, one could sell a million dollars of play money for about $5.00. But, that soon disappeared.

12500 reload available after 240 min is fine unless you go allin with any two cards. Maybe tournament standards rises now

+1, I think that this is what they are shooting for. Most busto any two card players will only be able to play 2-5 games since 10k is the minimum.

I like it. You can reload even if you have play $$ existing. Great for fun games. 12.5 K every 4 hours i believe. Will eliminate silly play money players going all in every hand. They have to wait another 4 hours to play again

Same reason that you would do play money sims in the stock market. Plus, for games that I'm not good at (any games with more than two cards)

, or that I'm new to playing. Easy was to learn the fundamentals without losing money.
