Seeing as there isn't a separate thread for Pokerstars I wasn't sure where to put this (a thread pertaining to problems/difficulties/improvements/software updates/bugs with the site/ etc. etc.

For the past week I've been experiencing temporary freeze-ups on Pokerstars. This has never happened to me before on there.

A couple things I've been experiencing recently:
Occasionally when I go to hit the bet button, it won't activate and I will need to click on it again. It will usually work on the 2nd click. This is a PIA for me as I am typically on many tables and at times I will miss the fact that it didn't activate when I hit the button and then I will end up timing out (mostly talking about while playing Z00M tables).
Stars has that 300 hand leaderboard promo going (which doesn't seem to be worth much) so for the hell of it, I will 8-table the micros there and since doing this, this is when I've begun to experience this. (no it's not my computer or my mouse... I play on many other tables/sites and NEVER experience this problem there)

Tables will freeze. No LAG prior to the freeze and never happens during a hand. This has also been occurring on Z00M tables. For example, I'll have 4-tables going and then I just don't get dealt another hand on each of the tables until I'm frozen on all 4. Even if I 'x' out & close the tables, my $$ balance doesn't increase in the lobby. ... it's as if each table's balance gets lost somewhere in limbo (software-space). To get it back functioning I'll need to close the site. Then re-open and log in again. Wait a moment... then my 4 tables pop back up on my screen, sitting out on each of them (balance not replenished to 100bb's if on one table I've dropped below 100bb's on previous hand played.. when site froze up on me). Sit in... tables re-up to 100bb's and I'm going again.

This ^ is beginning to happen more & more frequently.... which is making me want to play on there less & less frequently, lol.

Anyone else having difficulties on Stars these days?

Curious what settings & table appearance you are using now with the forced Aurora situation.
fwiw, I'm not engaging in the throwables or anything else non-poker related. I just want the site to work smoothly & have my cards & tables as clearly visible as possible.

Are you using poker software that can interfere with the client ? If yes then that is the answer (and if its not related to your IP)
I play on ipad mostly and I'm experiencing this: Only at the start of the tournament when I put iPad to landscape mode - picture stays small as 1/4 of screen....Then I have to force quit PokerStars and start again. Pretty annoying...

Does anybody know how to put partypoker and gg poker in landscape mode...I can't find that option and on PokerStars is by default... I just turn iPad and voila !

I havent experienced such problems . Only at the begining of a tourney it delays to put me at a table and I lose 1 hand almost always , maybe its my laptop thing

For the bet button no activation , try using hotkeys (for 3bb bet , 3.5bb , 4bbb , set to 100%pot bet or bet xbb or bet x%pot , etc ,) maybe this fixes things

I haven't had any of the other problems you describe, but I believe this^ one is part of the "improvements" of the last upgrade. I guess it reduces misclicks(?). This will happen to me in the first hand of a game, or when I have acted on another table (almost always a non PS game). It makes me a little crazy, but since the other "improvement" of reducing the time alarm sound to a nearly inaudible "ta-dum" has been backtracked to the alarm being a blaring bell sound, I have not actually gone to the point of getting sat out on the table in question. I think the need to click more than once is tolerable once you get used to it and expect it, but I'm not multi tabling on Stars.

It's multi-tabling ZOOM cash tables actually... which makes it a HUGE pia

i think this "ta-dum" sound was optional. its because you have beta sounds activated. it was always possible to choose between the old bell sound and "ta-dum"sound in the last years in the settings. not on the App though.

having to click two times to execute a bet, now that is a strange improvement indeed

It does seem odd that there isn't a dedicated thread about the most used and talked about poker room in the world, yet there is one for Unibet with all of 40 posts. I guess I should go find out what Unibet is exactly.

Well, as of yesterday (that I noticed), "tadum" is back, replacing "BEEBEEBEEBEE". While I'm not fond of the volume, which is adjustable, I certainly appreciate the ability to actually hear the alarm.

I didn't think I had beta anything activated.

Miles my friend i just double checked for you. Its still possible (on the desktop software) to choose between the two sounds.

If you have "enable beta sounds" activated the time-warning sound is "badum"

If you not have it activated its the other more aggressive sound.

Up to you to choose...me i prefer the "badum"

Thanks. I don't have beta activated and I get the harsh alarm. The problem was that all the sounds had been reset to maximum. Now I get the alarm at about 3/4 volume as it used to be.

So far I have not had such problems. Sometimes I have problems with sports betting, the page doesn't always load properly, but in general I don't have any problems playing poker.

I hate to say it but you should buy a new computer; I assume you are playing on a desktop. The latest generation has a solid state chip and is ultra-fast.

I also experience some anomalies like the bet button not responding till the 2nd or sometimes the 3rd click and losing the 1st or up to 3 hands at the start of a game.
PS had the smoothest software ever till the arrival of that Aurora thing. What a great downgrade !

This is still happening for me

Tonight I was railing someone's tournament. All my settings & table, lobby appearance same as I've had it set for a long time now. I log back in an hour later and ALL of my settings are GONE! What a joke! I'm glad I discovered it late at night as this would be extremely tilting to find in the morning after entering a number of tourneys.

Did this happen to anyone else this evening? I just noticed I lost all of my table layouts too.

The crappiest part about this is... I Don't even know what all of my settings were and now have to go through each thing all over again & then play around with it. pfff

I dont have technical issues playing on PokerStars, but I do agree, that some of the new graphics have made the experience worse rather than better. Its been a while, since I played time scheduled tournaments on Stars, and apparently they have now added some graphics, where bubbles appear on the table, when you are on the bubble, and then its constantly raining money, when you are in the money, until you reach the final table.

The bubbles in particular are kind of distracting, and I tend to notice it, when the tournament goes into hand for hand play, so this does not really give me any valuable information. Also if 117 people get paid, I dont really care so much, if its 118 or 128 left. I still want to adjust my strategy based on the fact, the payouts are near.

This is honestly done much better on 888 Poker. On 888 Poker as soon as late registration has closed, its displayed at the table, how many players are left, and how many places you are from the money. This is so simple and so usefull, that I really dont understand, why the presumed industry leader cant do the same instead of giving us some juvenile nonsense, which I guess they learned from GG Poker

The same thing started happening to me everytime there's an update and I have to go through all the options again. And like you said, I often forget how my settings were, so it takes me a long (wasted) time to reset everything.
I always used to praise PS interface, but now it looks like they only care about their profit. Players all over the forums have been complaining about Aurora for a while now, but PS is neither responding nor doing anything. They are taking us for granted.

Sounds like you have a problem with your computer ?
I had similar issues with an old laptop, because the backup battery was dead and I lost date/time and all the Windows settings were reset.

But also could be a software issue, if you have running Apps disturbing.

the pokerstars app is so much worse now than years ago in my opinion. in like 2012 i multitabled on it and liked it a lot more. nowadays on the table it does not show you how many players left in a tournament and also its difficult to raise 2.5 times the big blind preflop. you have to do it manually which is not very comfortable.

also i remember ten years ago there was a feature which let the user use his phone and do something else with it while playing and when there was a hand the phone would notify the user.

way to make something worse pokerstars.

Spraggy New Year

Is anyone doing that New Year's Spraggy Challenge on Stars? 'Spraggy New Year'

I figured I should give it a go but not wanting to play kick off games or Tempest.

Requirements seem to be pretty simple.

As I rarely play SPINS I had no idea how long it would take before I'd hit a 5x qualifier (I think I've only hit one once in my life, lol). So I loaded up 4 SPINS and right away I hit a 5x multiplier and got that one out of the way (didn't win the 5x, lol but did end up making a profit from the 4 spins... BUT they didn't HOOK me into them... well maybe just a bit, lol)

Only 1 tournament to go now & I'll have 9 of the challenges completed. Platinum Pass here I come!!!!

I have 7 out of 9 now . I already played a Winter MTT, but there is an error in the client so it will not update itself. Already talked to support.

I had played a few of the Winter Series MTT and it wasn't showing in mine either. Today I played another, just to try to complete this challenge and it worked today.

Unfortunately, I have to say that Pokerstars has a terrible support service. We have created difficulties with depositing and withdrawing funds. I am in another country, I was required to prove the address of my actual place of residence. I provided the document. Unfortunately, my place of residence and address were changed to the actual one. Thus, my payment system became unavailable. Now I can't make a deposit and withdraw funds from the gaming account. What's the point of playing if I can't withdraw winnings? The answer to my question was something like the following. Dear Allasander, my name is Alexander, but it's not that important. Then they write we hope that you have a good and happy day. We are sure that everything is fine. We will answer you soon. Etc. It is clear that nothing else was answered to me. Apparently they don't care at all that I was inconvenienced. I can't register in another country: skrill, neteller and another option. That's why I was forced to temporarily stop playing on Pokerstars. I play to get the winnings. There is no motivation.
