Just curious, what are your thoughts on the all-in or fold rooms on GGPoker?

4 player tables with Texas hold em or Omaha, where you can only move all in or fold.

With a chance to win a jackpot if you hit a straight flush.

Is it just gambling or is there some strategy involved?

Mostly all fast games no matter the site are rake traps. Never play them.

This format would have been great 20 years ago and up until poker Black Friday when everything was much softer and making money at poker was like taking candy from a baby. Voted never play.

Cheers!!!

Of course there is some strategy involved, since you need to decide, when to push and when to fold. But even so its most likely not possible to beat the rake, as others have already said. The reason for that is, its kind of limited, how big mistakes other players can make in a format like this. So as an alternative to slot machines, its ok, but not if you are trying to make money from poker, or for that matter get better. Even a hyperturbo SnG is more complicated than a 10BB push/fold cash game.

I love poker because it brings me money, regularly. If I wanted to save time, I would just buy a lottery ticket. I don't play in tournaments like that because I need money, not a lottery game.

I've played a bit back then (initially because it was part of the honeymoon achievement) and over a decent sample size I netted about 1ct per hand (on the lowest stake), but the rake is 2ct per hand. Rakeback is probably a bit below 1 ct per hand, though of course no one knows.

First time I played it, I got $140 from GGPoker Jackpot (not the straight flush version)...

Just the biggest prize for the smallest stake :ROFLMAO:

I think you can be profitable in it, for sure, but you need to have a good preflop knowledge and to choose the best tables, because variance will be your most powerful enemy...

Anyway, I don't usually play this modality, I prefer to play Spin & Gold instead of this...

Those formats work well if you have a high % rakeback
